Freeware FSX f18EX

Postby Shrek650 » Fri Jun 05, 2015 9:02 am

I have a new gaming computer and now when I try and load the Freeware f18EX I get black screens when looking from the cockpit. only looking thru the hud and what is outside, also looking though the hud is ok. all other views are ok. I have gotten new texture from another working copy and tried to reload them. no joy. I noticed today when it loaded all was ok for a split sec then the glass backs out. any ideas on a setting in FSX or what my issue could be? I wish I could post a photo of my issue here.

In your new gaming computer....

Do you have a problem with any other aircraft in your Hangar?

If not, and everything else works OK, what I would do is to select another aeroplane which works successfully....

..that's what lazy old me always does.... ;) ...!

Just the F-16 I downloaded, its view is green, all other aircraft that came with the FSX gold and those I have purchased from Razbam and the others I downloaded work fine.

Shrek. Can you be more specific? If you give a file name or link to the page it's posted on perhaps someone can download it to check it out for you.

You say you have FSX Gold Edition. Have you installed Acceleration?

Yes I have acceleration installed, is there a place I can post the photos of my issues? I am not sure where. Basically, I have installed the freeware and I can not get the outside texture to load looking out the cockpit glass. I also noticed the S3 freeware, I have just black where the flaps should be but I can see out the cockpit. This is weird I have never had a issue like this on my laptop.. My computer is a brand new ibuypower with win8.1. All the FSX files loaded into program files/ 86/Microsoft games/FSX. All the graphics work well with the FSX aircraft and the Razbam aircraft I have Also the ships seem fine in Aicarrier.. Thank you.

Sorry, can't help unless we know which file you're talking about.

Make sure DX10 preview is off. Not all planes will work with it on. And not all planes will work with Acceleration either.

I am finding out that Fly Away Simulation is not the best place to get downloads from, they have a bad reputation here.

Some homebound suggestions

http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... egoryId=57
http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... &x=20&y=13
http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... EX&x=0&y=0

There are more by different searches as this aircraft has several different ways of calling itself (f18, f-18, F/A 18, etc, etc)

.. and don't forget the FSX Acceleration has a pretty good default F18!

I am actually really fond of this one. While they are working on another version of this now in the C and D model, I've been following a thread on it at another site.
