Inappropriate screen name, maybe

Postby Modlerbob » Sat Jun 06, 2015 1:36 am

I know some of you are actual pilots so I want to pose this question. Why would an airline pilot have a forum screen name (not this one) of psycho? A joke? In light of the recent downing of an airliner by a deranged copilot I would think this guy might change his screen name.

As it is the Internet, how do you know he is actually pilot......

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Because he lives near me in Florida and I have met him at model shows. I didn't know his screen name until I bought an item from him online.

I guess it only matters if the pilot in question ends up involved in an otherwise unexplainable crash. At that point the investigators start ripping into the minutest details of the lives of those flying the plane. Maybe even if only said pilot gets into a fight with a passenger or expresses bad behavior in public. Part of the public's trust in flying is the image that the airline has and it doesn't take much to turn that image sour.
