Problem with FSX Steam Addition

Postby Zepman » Sun May 31, 2015 2:47 pm

First time Post. I am a retired Corporate Pilot who uses FSX Steam to practice IFR procedures in Aircraft that I did NOT get to fly. My problem is that when enter the "Free Flight" page of the sim and click the #1 tab (CURRENT AIRCRAFT) the page changes to the "SELECT AIRCRAFT " page but only the top and bottom tabs appear(i.e.: Aircraft Manufacturer, Publisher, Aircraft type , and all the bottom tabs.
the Center of the screen is bordered but blank. The only work around I've found is to start a save flight, click the "Aircraft Tab" then click the "select Aircraft" drop down tab. This usually opens the full "SELCECT AIRCRAFT" menu. Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

First of all, welcome.

Second - Sundays can be a quiet time on SimViation. You may have to give it a day or two before someone can help.

Good luck.

use your work around method to get a flight loaded then save it as default flight.
restart the sim and see if it works normal

I tried your solution via the workaround, It did work as long as I stayed in the Sim, but after saving it as the default flight and then leaving FSX Steam, it reverted back to it's original behavior. I'm wondering if any one else is experiencing this problem. If so it could be a slight (by annoying) glitch in the FSX Steam program. I went to their support page, they recommended making sure that the latest Drivers were installed. Did that but no change in the problem.

Thanks for giving me the suggestion. I'll use the workaround for now.

Hey there,

I have FSX Steam edition with all kinds of add-ons, my guess would be that you have a corrupted install because if you check the steam forums I don't recall anyone having that issue, not that I really checked for that issue personally. I would say uninstall clean your cache with CCleaner and then just reinstall, I am sure it will be fine then. Cheers and gl mate.
