Icarus Grumman Duck

Is there anybody out there who can help me out with the contact points on my Icarus Grumman Duck please? Whenever it settles on water, the whole bottom wing becomes submerged! Plus, it sits way too high in the water! I know nothing about Flight Simulator design, so I need all the help I can get! Thanks in anticipation!

I'm trying to wrap my head around what you're talking about: how can it both sit too high in the water AND have it's wing too submerged? Would seem like fixing one of those issues would make the other worse . . . how about a screenshot?

When the aircraft is upright it sits too high, the slightest turn inundates half of the lower wing, as seen in the attached file.

Lol, okay. I didn't need the whole CFG file, but its okay.

Looking at the contact points section, this should be pretty easy to fix.

Find:
//Wing Floats

point.9= 5, -6.5, 0.0, -6.0, 0, 0, 0.0, 20, 0.00, 0.0, 1.00, 0.0, 0.0, 0, 0, 0

Change the fourth digits of the first two points to -1.8. So now it will read:

Test it in the sim and if it doesn't quite work, keep increasing that number (negatively) until you get the desired effect.

I never did resolve the problem, even after spending many hours fiddling with the "config" files. But now there is a wonderful replacement on Simviation. I thank everybody for their help, and everyone who works tirelessly providing Simviation with an endless supply of aircraft of all types, you've all helped to keep me sane!

Glad to hear you got it fixed (or gor an alternative) - but please always mention what file you are talking about. Link to it. I also don't know what file you are referring to.
That saves a lot of time and makes it 10x more likely you will get your answer.

I found this comment regarding hawkfan's problem in a review on another website:

"Initially my flight control settings are full right — as realistic as you can get. However using these settings, I found that when I loaded the Duck into the sea the starboard wing disappeared under water. A quick email to IG resolved the issue in that I had to significantly decrease my “General” setting in the “Realism” section of FSX to the left and this resolved the issue."
