Pilatus-Freeware or payware?

Postby Merlin0859 » Mon May 11, 2015 9:56 am

Looking for some opinions. I have Tim Conrad's Pilatus Porter and it's a very nice plane. Can anyone offer opinions as to whether Tim's or FSD's Porter is better. I like the price on Piglet's version but also like the float and other versions on FSD's. Thanks for any input. I just hate to spend money on FSD's if the freeware version is just as good. Also heard some, let's say unkind things about FSD's support. May not be true but you never know!

Hi,

I have both versions of the Porter PC-6 & although I've not flown/used the FSD version for quite a long while now, I always go back to Tim Piglet's version.
The freeware version is better in my opinion & it's ALWAYs installed in my FSX hanger, ready for action!
No matter how many times I've done a fresh install of FSX, it's high on my list to put back on! (plus there's loads of repaints for it too!) I also love his North American Rockwell OV-10A Package.

Talking of Tim Piglet Conrad, does anyone know if he still does aircraft? He's high on my favourite modellers along wiith Dino Cattaneo.

Regards,

Keith.

I have Tim's Pilatus, and it's great. It's basically payware quality.

A long time ago i bought FSD's Conmander 115, and whilst it was nice for the time, it's now very, very old, and well past it's use by date.

Nothing new has come out of FSD's stable for a very long time, so if you were to purchase it, do understand that their products are not new.

I don't know what the cost is, but it's not new, so check when it was made, and compare with other developers for current products.

Nothing against FSD, it's just I feel you should be aware of the age of their goods.
