Buy a new game and....

Postby expat » Sun May 10, 2015 7:11 am

Buy a new game and then not be able to play it until it has completed......................and 11 GIG update...................11 GIG is not an update that is a new bloody game.
I now have a very frustrated 10 year old who just wants to play his new game. Add to that the website limits the download speed to 650kb (I have a 6 Mbit connection) and it may be tomorrow before he plays.

0/10 Lucasarts.....

Have you tried interesting him in the fast paced, high kinetic sport of stone skipping???

And the "download" of the playing pieces is a quick as you can reach down to pick them up.

And don't forget that this fast growing sport can be used in self defense.

Naw. The stone skipping part was an attempt to reduce "entertainment" to it's simplest.

I was also thinking of my youth when the only electronic game that we had was to reach around the corner and turn out the lights on family. :D

Then there was the sport of sitting around and trying to decide what to do on a quite summers day.

Well, we did have TV, all three channels. :D

BTW - what game are you dealing with?

Its always annoying when you have to leave your computer running all night, consuming electricity, and the possibility of a fire, while you are sleeping in bed waiting for the download to complete!
(I always switch all my stuff OFF before going to bed every night, for safety reasons).

I suppose the answer is, to switch the download on first thing on a Sunday morning, before going to Church and praying for forgiveness for all the dodgy things that you did during the week.
That exercise will probably take the remainder of the day, and the download will be complete when you arrive back home again.

My requests for forgiveness always falls on deaf ears.
...."praying" never works, anyway....trust me... ;) ...!

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

Not their finest hour.... I never bothered with it after reading the reviews when it came out. I've got a couple of Star Wars games on my tablet for those times when I'm stuck on-site waiting for Windows to do these mega-updates on servers and things :-D

I know how frustrating it can be as some of the updates are huge now  as the graphics files are so large. I still play some Xbox and PS3 and 4 games now and again and have the same problem. I usually find that the download is fixes for gliches that were in the game when it was first released. Usually well worth the wait  . I still remember some of the first computer games that I bought years ago came on 10 or 15 floppy disks and I thought that thoes games were good till now :D .

Keep smiling
