I love it when my lovely-old default Beech Baron 58 shouts a warning at me when I close the throttle for a landing and I am getting far too close to the ground with my wheels still up!

She keeps me safe when all around me is falling apart...bless her!.... ...!

A summer job during high school was at a small local airport.

To cut it short, I was working one day when a pilot brought in a rented Mooney M20.




He later said "I thought it (the aircraft) was getting low".

Nothing spectacular, smooth belly landing off the runway and into the grass.



Working in that airport was great and I learned a lot.

'Corse I never did find that bottle of prop wash for cleaning the propellers, nor the shore line for tying down the aircraft.

When you've got a big prop, and a belly landing with the gear up, the big expense is the damage to the prop(s) and the seriously damaged; "shock-loaded" engine, requiring a close examination and replacement/renovation!
Not a happy experience!

Paul... I like to keep my Motor-bike, on its wheels, "shiny-side up", if possible.... ...!

Not only that, but when ever I have taken the jump seat (perks of the job 737, A320 and Dash8 Q400), the crew has always said, if you see or hear and it appears we have not, then say something. The "cameraman" in this video, quite happy to film and not ask what the warning is...............?

Also anyone have any idea with my prop lost thrust question.....?

...apparently, he made it safely to a nearby airfield....

...with an unusual amount of clearance between the prop tips and the ground....

...followed by a very large repair bill for somebody, and a replacement pilot required.
