One thing I have always failed to find, with many searches, is an addon scenery file for the any of the MS Flight Sims, showing the "Waldo Tunnel" at the entrance/exit to Golden Gate Bridge situated in Marin County...>>>

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Marin ... 80&bih=830

It can be traversed in my Computer driving game of; "Midtown Madness 2" (San Francisco), and my Truck Driving game; "Rig 'n Roll"......and also seen in the Film; "Dirty Harry" involving the School 'Bus hijack.

Exiting the Tunnel from Marin County to Golden Gate Bridge reveals the first majestic sight of San Francisco, (providing its not hidden under the usual fog!), and exiting the Tunnel from Golden Gate bridge reveals the rolling hills and countryside of Marin County!
Either way, its a beautiful tunnel!...>>>
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waldo_Grade

Its an interesting fact that although lots of "Bridges" appear in the Flight Sims, none of them seem to show "Tunnels"...and there are lots of them!

Paul....bridging a conversation regarding tunnels... :D ...!

Fascinating, Jet!
Haven't seen that before!

I am curious where the Video was taking place!
Probably not on one of the Towers!

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.

Speaking of the Waldo Tunnel, if you bear right heading north and take the road down to Sausalito.....you will find houseboats moored as a housing community, and one of my favorite haunts is "Zacks" where we use to watch crab races.............those were the days! And of course college students what put colored bath bubbles in the local fountain, which would drive the city mgr nuts !!

That's the place where Dirty Harry and the crazy bloke Scorpio (Andrew Robinson) finally ended up in the abandoned works with the shoot-out at the Pond.

I followed that exact same 'Bus route, turn right off Highway 101 at ground level to Sausalito, with Google Street Nav Map.

Paul....Make my Day!.... ...!

Sausalito has the VOR Radio Beacon to guide me around the area in my Frisco Flights!

Some more History involving the Golden Gate Bridge

A very successful person evidently had their Panties N A Knot and jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge in 1993.

We've all seen this place, maybe even been to these stores ???

he had a $500 - Million Dollar Empire too !!!

"Mr Raymond threw himself off San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge in August 1993. He was 46 years old".

I can't imagine, such a tragic shame tho.

When they were painting the bridge for first times they thought they had discovered a new never before seen seagull. But then found out painters were catching seagulls and painting their heads red.

I grew up looking at that bridge, as well as all the others! I spent my first 18 years in the Bay Area, Woodside, to be exact.
Just south of the Crystal Springs Reservoir, there along I-280. The Filoli Estate (Fantastic gardens!) is on Woodside's north end. My family lived in "the poor part" of Woodside, heck our neighbor across the street was the Chairman of Bank of America! I did spend a lot of time playing, unbeknownst to the owners, on the Wattel Estate, right beside Junior Riders. At one time I understand, they had a rail spur ran right onto the estate. Beautiful place, gorgeous mansion, more amazing gardens, but all maintained in "stasis" so to speak. Amazing, glass enclosed, open to the sky Olympic sized pool, lotsa dressing rooms. They also had a theatre, for their Nob Hill guests coming down the rail spur back in the day, but under it, ahhhh there's the secret! There was a full sized re-creation, all underground, of a Roman Bath! With lots of rooms around the periphery, and an underground tunnel over to the 2-car garage near-by. Great adventure for a young lad to explore (There was a hole in the roof of a side room of the Garage, which I could just get in and out through). The family lived in Europe, I believe. I think they've opened the estate for tours now. I do know they put some sheet-metal over the hole, on the inside. Pity.
It all looked very Gatsby-ish. And yes, I have read it.
Anyway, sorry. I just wanted to throw that little tid-bit in.
Pat☺

Hello, Pat!..... :D ...

..all these interesting little tid-bits encourage me to fire up my Google Sat Maps, locate the scene, and zoom down to examine them closely, and with the help of Wikipedia, find out all about them!

Keep the interesting tid-bits coming, everyone, they fascinate me!

Hey Paul!
Easy enough to find: search the sat map for The Old Tripp Store (Named for the post-master/chemist/dentist/store owner Dr. R.O. Tripp. He catered to the loggers in the area, sadly to my thinking logging the Redwoods out...), located on King's Mountain Rd. and Tripp Rd. Follow Tripp Rd. about 1/2 mile to Summit Springs Rd., 1/4 mile past Tripp Ct. (where I grew up, second house up on the right). Across from Summit Springs Rd. is the estate. It reaches all the way over to the corner of King's Mt. Rd. and Woodside Rd. The mansion is/was easily visible from that spot. The garage is about 1/2 way to Tripp Ct., with the theater just that way from Summit Springs. The main entrance is over at the King's Mt. Rd/Woodside Rd. intersection, actually, just about 50' up King's Mt. from there.
Just a little side note: The first house on the right past Tripp Ct. was the house of a young lady, and lady she truly was, name Poly Moore. We walked home from the grade school down on Woodside Rd. many many times. Wonderful girl! Going up Tripp Ct., the second house on the left was the house of the Chairman of Bank of America. Great guy, name of Bill Pfifle (fie-flee). My father and I cut the huge oak down that was right in the middle of his driveway, hence the big empty spot. Kept us in wood for a couple years!
I used to spend a lot of my time walking in amongst the redwoods that are no longer, all around The Mounted Patrol Grounds which adjoin my parent's property on the back, although the state park up King's Mt., named Huddart Park, who's back entrance, only for horse riders (they say!) is across from the Mounted Patrol Grounds Main entrance just up from the Tripp Store. I spent a lot of time over there of an evening, as that's where the Girl Scout troops would meet. :D I figured, if they were gonna come to me...
The patio around the Tripp Store was a wonderful, dry place to wait for the bus, of a morning. As long as we respected the store (no spray paint, carving hearts with initials, etc in the wooden walls and so on) they would let us all stand under the roof if it was raining.
Have fun! Enjoy your look around. When I want to I just look inside...
By the by, when I looked, back in '06, a bare dirt, no services, no electric, water etc etc 1/4 acre lot's price in Woodside? $1 million. :!: :!: Just a little over my price range! That's why I live in Oregon. Close as I can afford
Pat☺
