adding aircraft & panels

Postby PHILarm130 » Sun Feb 15, 2015 7:28 pm

I downloaded the Cessna Exel. But only half the gauges work. Only Com 1 & Nav 1 work. How do I fix this problem?

Please be more specific. An exact description, a file name or link to the page it's posted on would help.

Com 2 is displayed in the radio stack, but it does not function. The same for Nav 2. it is there, but the display will not respond to the inputs.

To make sure that ALL the modules in your Radio Stack function as desired, have a peek in the "aircraft" notepad for your model...

Example for the default Beech Baron 58:

[Radios]
// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1 = 1
Com.1 = 1, 1
Com.2 = 1, 1
Nav.1 = 1, 1, 1
Nav.2 = 1, 1, 0
Adf.1 = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1 = 1

The entry (1) means that the module is operable. (You can change the settings yourself...remember to save!).

Paul....Bendix-King!..... :mrgreen: ...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Other than what Fozzer has said the only other reason any gauge might not work is that you do not have the actual gauge installed.
You have to remember that the panel you look at is a bit map. It can show several gauges that will not function.
The only way to really know what is actually active in any panel is to have a program similar to FSPLANEL STUDIO.
Granted this is not freeware but this is the program any panel designer should have on there computer. It works with all versions of Flight Simulator and you do not have to have a PHD in order to use it. This program actually shows you what you would see in flight simulator and it makes adding or moving any gauge as easy as falling off a log. Just click and drag the gauge to where you want it save it. Than when you start up FS it will be right where you put it.
It will tell you what the name of the gauge file each gauge is using and where it is at. So if you are missing a gauge it will let you know real quick.
Here is the link
There is a demo version so you can try before you buy.
http://www.fspanelstudio.com/
Mind you this program will not allow you to edit a VC (Virtual Cockpit)

Is it the Aryus_C560_EJA_N695QS.zip? If so I may have your answer. There are several other problems with it which I have fixed. Let us know please as we asked before. Bob.

Forgive me for not responding sooner, but my wife an I operate a small bussiness, and it requires a lot of time. But yes the aircraft is the Argus 560 (N771DE). I am using the Lear45 panel. Only COM 1 & NAV 1 respond to imputs. In the mean while I will try the sugestions. THANKS!

Hi Phil I just downloaded and installed the version you have. What gauges are you missing? It uses the default Lear 45 panel. Does your Lear 45 panel show all the gauges when you load the Lear 45 by itself? I just thought that I am not sure if the Lear 45 is in FSX by default. I have it in mine as if it was missing I installed it. My radio works fine for all Comms and Navs. See my pic.

There are three problems with it:

1) There is no thumbnail.jpg in the Texture folder. It only shows up with default view picture in the aircraft select window. He has a thumbnail.gif but it is in the aircraft folder. I used one of his jpg's and cut and pasted it to 256 size and named it thumbnail.jpg and placed it in the Texture folder of the plane.

2) You will get a Brake Accum Press and Brakes fail message. This is caused by a missing text in the brakes section of the aircraft.cfg which I fixed. See the included aircraft.cfg.

3) You cannot set the speed in the autopilot because the aircraft.cfg has the line autothrottle_arming_required= 1. There is no arming switch. I set it to autothrottle_arming_required= 0. Now the speed select works in the autopilot.

Here is my fixed aircraft.cfg. Make a backup of yours and try mine.

I also added two camera definitions from the default Lear 45 to it for the right and left wing views.

The display is fine. All the gauges are there, except there is no response to COM2 & NAV2. I just have to figure out how make the corrections you listed.

Hi Phil. Does the radio work in your Lear 45? PM me if you want and we can chat via e-mail or Skype, if you have it. Bob.

Thanks for asking. Been ill with a virus, in the bed for over a week. Had jury duty prior to that. Back now, and hope to fix my problem. First time on flt sim in weeks. I do not have Skype. I can send you my email if that will help.

Hi. OK. I hope you are OK now.

PM me with your address.

Too bad you don't have Skype. It's free and we could see each others screens. All you need are speakers or headset and a mike. it's great for issues like this.You don't even need a camera.

Best regards, Bob.
