All you need is a little know how and a repaint kit and you can recreate just about any livery. In most cases aircraft like this are just a repaint no need to make a new model, unless the panel is different. Even than a B747-200 or B747-400 are all the same just a different paint job to represent the different airlines

I think that he's just yanking our chain. Just about every post is a wheedling cry for someone else to do something for him.

I think that he would be happier with Microsoft Flight.

Mr Jet, I can't do it. And I have a good reason.

I have absolutely NO artistic ability.

On the other hand. If you provide me with the EXACT measurements, then yes, I could do it.

This user posted a request for a specific repaint, in a forum that is aptly titled "Aircraft Wanted", and all he got from a bunch if senior forum members was answers mocking his request and lack of ability to do repaints...

That's just not cool.

If you aren't able to help, then why say anything at all. I suspect that the OP was hoping a forum member who was good at doing repaints might answer. I don't think he wanted to be told to do it himself. Maybe the request goes unanswered, but at least show some respect for the other users of the forum.

How would you like it if you took your car in for repairs, and the mechanic mocked your lack of know how and told you to learn how to do it yourself?

Re: American Airlines 747-123 - - - Would you be able to find one for me please I am not the best of finding a panel

Pac Alantic Air 747-200 - - - Can this be made I do not know how to create something like this. That is why it is a request to have it made.

Garymbuska actually offered encouragement, and some helpful advice, and received this reply;

"Gary can this be made by you please".

I don't knock him for not knowing how to do what he wants done.

I could learn to do the things that he wants, but the results would look as if a three legged cat had painted it.

But the OP is making one request after another for someone (anyone) else to do "it" for him, while showing no interest at all in learning at least the basics.

Unless I know more about the original poster it seems to me that the best way to help him would be to direct him towards doing it himself.

It's that old thing -
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

Or more simply put - giving him everything isn't really helping him.

I hope that he comes back. And I hope that he asks us to help him learn.

I've never seen a 3 legged cat paint something...

But I suspect that the OP mightsuffer the same non-artistic affliction as you (or even me for that matter). Therefore he has asked for help from anyone who might be able to do it. There is no harm in asking, nor should the OP be admonished for making such a request. Especially in a forum with a title "Aircraft Wanted". Why does it matter how many times he has asked for something? Maybe you could ask Pete to remove this category from the forum because it makes other simmers lazy and unwilling to learn?

Gary made a valid and polite response, and the OP iterated his inability to do such a thing. Then his motive for asking was attacked in a manner that was obviously intended to belittle his lack of knowledge. Jetranger is from what I've seen, an accomplished repainter. But he chose to mock the OP rather than perhaps point him to some reference materials. Thats just not within the spirit of support that i normally see here at simviation.

Just saying, telling someone to "learn" is in no way helping anybody. It only highlights your unwillingness to actually help.

WOW!!! I too am shocked at the attitude of this forum towards someone asking for help! I have been here for quite a long time, some of you know me quite well! And to be honest your attitude towards the OP is downright CRAP! How dare you mock him like that! Let me guess, you were NEVER new yourself were you? God forbid! I am BEYOND pissed! You guys are supposed to be who the newcomers turn to, instead you mock and humiliate him in an OPEN FORUM!!! WTF is wrong with you guys?? I don't care if you are having a bad day, I don't care what your reasons may be, you have no RIGHT to treat someone like this, and by the time you have read this, I will have reported this to Admin! You all should be ashamed of yourselves! He has already made it plenty clear that he doesn't know how, and as Pegger said, you won't even try to show him how or what he may need! What you guys have done is PURE CYBER BULLYING! That is one thing that caused a friend of mine to commit suicide, when all he needed was some friends!! I can't keep talking, this has upset me waaaaay too much! Usually I give my regards, today I say, you guys have lost your credibility and integrity!

I've worked in schools from daycare upwards.

The joy and excitement of the young children is a great thing to see.

But in later years "learning" is something that is looked on as BAD.

People (students) are taught that just trying is all that matters. Failure is ok, it happens to everyone. At least you tried. Go on and do something else.

Yes, you tried. You have value.

At least in this country, students are given passing grades just to get them out of that grade.

Then too, no one wants to "hurt" their little psyche, so they're give an ataboy.

Just look at what this has done to the children. Look what it has done to adults.

Personally, I think that this criminal. You are denying them a chance to develop. You are killing them internally.

You are removing any self dignity and value that they may see in themselves.

But heaven forbid that you tell them that they should TRY.

THAT is too painful to hear. Their teachers weren't so harsh.

As I said before - I hope that you come back. And I hope that you ask us to help you learn to do the things that you want.

You might be surprised at how different the welcome will be.

Yes, pegger. I was alluding to the inartistic capabilities that might be shared between us (he and I).

Let me tell you about the India(n) people who moved in next door to us two years ago.

They are very friendly people and VERY hard workers. More so than most Americans.

They've been in the US for about 11 years and are naturalized citizens.

Now this is a point that has me confused. When they arrived next door they were always coming over to ask for help in one thing or another.

I set up their home network, helped put in a security camera system and motion detection lights when neighbors (from down the street, I think) started breaking their car windows at night.

But they would knock on our door for just about any reason, no matter how small. And I do mean small - the light bulb burned out in their refrigerator, and they wanted me to change it for them.

After a while the frequent requests were becoming very annoying.

In those areas where I had helped them before, I still helped them. In other areas, I professed ignorance of the subject.

They went further afield, knocking on other doors up and down the street.

Eventually no one would help them.

So why am I confused about them?

They may not be mechanically inclined, but they are reasonably intelligent.

Was their knocking on so many doors a way to introduce themselves?

I don't know. But the end result of asking anyone, and everyone, to help them has backfired. I'm now the only one on the block who'll talk to them anymore.
