Whether you know that something, or someone, is true or not, doesn't mean that it, or they, don't have an impact on your daily life.
There are people who believe that Aristotle, Francis Bacon, and Albert Einstein were real. Never saw a one of them, myself.
There are also those who believe that electrons exist. Personally, I've never held one in my hand. I can only say that I'm paying a lot of money for them.
So long as those who believe in Shakespeare, Buddha, Jesus, whatever, do no harm, and intend to do no harm I'm quite happy for them. The more the merrier.
