"object"collision on ruway

Postby orenda14 » Wed Jan 07, 2015 7:17 pm

After some years of no problem I have finally hit a "head scratcher". suddenly on one of my airports I have an object collision shortly after releasing breaks and taking off, the A/C roles about 10 feet then crash, object collision. it is only happening on one airport on two runways and does the same thing with various aircraft, any ideas will be welcome as this is an enhanced airfield and I really dont want to delete it and start over...thanks

There is likely an object in the scenery with a large bounding or colision box around it. Go into your sum realism setting and turn off object collision. Try the ruways again. If that helps , then the above suggestion is true. To fix it, you will need to decompile the scenery and edit the offending object to make it not crashable. Or just leave object crash off.

Just noticed you mentioned it's enhanced scenery. Did you do the work? If so, go into your project to see if there are any objects or artifacts that could be the problem and edit their properties to not cause crashes.

I used to have this on short finals over the threshold, at more than one airport though...

It turned out to be Active Sky and Wind Shear, when turned down, the problem went away.

Worth checking, just in case.

thanks for the info, after all these years one would think I would have turned off "collision" just never thought of it. No, this enhancement is not my work but has been working fine for past 10 years, just not sure why this bug would turn up now, thanks again....chis

You might want to check where you sliders are at if they are turned down it can cause buildings to disappear but still cause a collision.
The other thing that can cause this is if during the design phase the taxiways were not connected properly it can cause a crash. Have you ever noticed while taxing down a taxiway you will suddenly see smoke come off the tires for no reason. Uneven taxiways is the culprit here in most cases.
When I make a taxiway I try to avoid connecting taxiways just for this reason.
