Jetway Textures

Postby pcarvalho » Fri Jan 02, 2015 6:42 am

I recently downloaded an HSBC jetway texture, but not all airports have HSBC jetways, so is there a way to have both the default jetway and the HSBC jetway, and only use the HSBC in the airports I want to (by adding it through ADE). The only way I know how to use this texture would be by replacing the defualt one....

Also, does anyone know a good jetway texture (maybe a glass jetway or something) to replace the default?

I think you loosely understand what is happening here.
You have a texture for default jetways. That texture will be called for ALL default jetways regardless if what airport you are at.
The only way to make that texture unique to a specific airport only is to make custom jetways for that specific airport and compile it with that scenery file only. You can't place default jetways with ADE and expect them to be unique....they are default.

You can however create a unique jetway model, with unique textures as you want them to appear, then place those unique jetway models with ADE.

Making the models is a completely different process requiring some form of 3d modelling program, model converterX, and a graphics program to make the textures.

There's no simple solution for your situation. Good luck in your scenery project.

I know, that is what I was asking, how to create a different jetway. I know how to do it, but the problem is that by creating a new one to add with ADE, I won't have the animations to move the jetway, it would be seen as any other object in the airport.

Animating a jetway is no easy task. I have been studying on how to do so for some time, and still can't figure it out. There are a lot of animations I would like to add to my sceneries, but it's beyond me how to make them happen.

I guess that's what makes the difference between the OrbX's of the world and guys like us!
