Who the hell is Captain Slog?

Postby Visitor66 » Fri Oct 10, 2014 9:42 pm

Filton, Bristol. The year? 2039. 70 years since Concorde flew from here. Captain Slog's testing a very used Orion spaceplane.
She'll get a fresh coat of paint and be sold to some rich kid.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.

Thank you all for your kind comments, they're really appreciated!

Chuck, she's from right here on Simviation, the old site I think?

http://simviation.com//simviation/?type ... 69&page=10

I like any of Tim Conrad's aircraft though, you really feel as if your actually in a vehicle. 8-)

The idea came from looking at some old screenshots this week, the space ones were from May this year, I'd re-installed FSX and the Orion's instruments

weren't showing up (the old dll. problem, I think), then had the idea of the failure "up there", the rest is history, as they say.

Cheers again, Ford.

   To you all , for inspiring me!

No idea who the heck Capt Sloq is (was? Didn't he retire as suddenly as he showed up?), but those are some awesome (A sadly overused word, I know) pix! I especially love the Piglet's propensity to put the dogfood container/dispenser on every one of his planes! I've got an OV-10 of his that has an airborne dispenser. I guess that's for spreading a lot of Purina in a wide swath fast...Guess it's a good way to bribe the local wolves, maybe?
Anyway, thanks for the pix! Look forward to seeing more!

Thanks for bringing this to the fore again :) there is SO much stuff in the archives that is classic and gets forgotten.

Also remember there is nothing in the old site that isn't in the new site -- here is a link with lots of repaints too :)

Thanks for looking Phantom (Pat), I love your comment about the Purina dispenser there!........
Yeah that Bronco is great to fly isn't it?

Maybe the Captain will show up again, I suppose if he had a last flight, he must have had a first one etc. too? ;)

I do have some ideas with other themes as well, but this one just sort of clicked with me.
I'll be working on the others sometime soon I expect. :o

Cheers, Ford (Laurie).

Thanks for the info Pete, it's good to know that all the good stuff is still around on the site. :D

I'll be going back to get the other repaints very soon, she's such a quality piece of work, that she deserves a new coat for autumn!
