Does anyone else have this problem?

I use a Logitech Force 3D Pro force feedback joystick with FS2004. As soon as I start my computer with the FF plugged in to the joystick it starts to vibrate. While flying, although it does have quiet periods, much of the time it vibrates and you can see the flight controls of the aircraft vibrating. I know everyone will say you should have the latest drivers but the latest driver for this stick came out in 2010 and I have it. I also have older drivers from 2008 and 2003 and I have tried them but it makes no difference. My operating system is XP. It has been suggested to me that there is some kind of interference from the OS which the latest driver lgs510 can't cope with and Logitech it seems can't be bothered to do an update. This shaking is spoiling my otherwise great flight experience with FS2004. Anyone have any ideas?

I think you can disable FF in your game controller set up. Can't see any other solution as the latest driver is so old.

Yeah, you can disable the FF. Prob the easiest way out. I had the same stick with XP years ago, but never used the FF, I guess I just turned it off.

OK I tried disabling FF in FS2004 But it made absolutely no difference. The interference was still there. Then I tried calibrating the joystick again in XP and that seems to have solved the problem. I need to play with it a little more just to make sure but it seems to be fixed.

Did you install your drivers with a CD? If so, try the CD again and during any sort of installation process look for an option to disable the FF. I have a different joystick that vibrates, but I had to go through the above process to stop it from vibrating. Just a thought...

Now perhaps it is just me but why in earth would you buy a joystick that has force feedback capability only to turn it off.
This to me makes no sense at all. But it is you game and system as long as you are happy with it go for it.
But that just sounds crazy to me.
Why buy the joystick if you are not going to use it correctly??????

I found in the past, that if I wanted a flight joystick with a twist action for the rudder, the stick came automatically with force-feedback built in......whether I wanted it, or not......like the original Microsoft Sidewinder FF Flight Stick.
Most game joysticks then without force feedback didn't contain the twist action, just an 8-way analogue action for the stick!

My previous FF joystick was the Saitek Cyborg force-feedback, which I had to buy to get the twist action, even tho' I preferred to disable the force-feedback in the Flight Sim....(I find it annoying!).

Fortunately, my present stick Saitek Fly5 Cyborg X, only has the twist action, and not the annoying force-feedback built-in!

Maybe get a yoke? Far more realistic, than gaming joysticks, when used with the correct planes of course. The immersion factor is fantastic, especially when used with pedals.

Interesting, but unless I am missing something, it seems like this is for FSX only: " We managed to hook into the lower core of FSX using our Accu-Sim technology, and were able to make things happen without touching a single file in the FSX directory." As such, I will have to label this as TMI and misleading to participants in the FS2004 forum. I stand chagrined.

If THAT thing starts to shake, I'm almost sure it's do to pilot error, or a short-circuit between the seat and yoke!

I'm a little put back at a couple responses.I dont think the man bought the stick with the FF just to turn it off.He came here asking for help.He got some input.But then,he got criticism for taking possibly his only way out of the irritation. Guys,if you dont have a solution,or encouraging comments,why not simply leave it alone.The last thing any one that is dealing with problems,is someone busting his chops over the obvious.I am sure he'd rather have the FF operating correctly.He cant find a solution,so,like many of us,he came here hoping for help.Instead,he got a couple comments that had no constructive value in them at all.
