Grove of palm trees on runway Belize

Postby Modlerbob » Sun Jun 29, 2014 11:23 pm

The international airport in Belize is where there is a grove of palm trees planted in the runway. I can't seem to find a fix for this one.

there are several default scenery locations that are bugged in fsx.
the only way to fix it is add custom scenery to that location
ASUS P8Z77-VLK, I5-3570k @ 4.4ghz, G.SKILL 16gb 1600, GTX 570 2560MB GDDR5, 2x OCZ Vertex 4 128Gb SSD SATA 3,
WD 500GB SATA 3, ASUS DRW-24B1ST SATA 3, OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular, Samsung 52" lcd, Win 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

FS9 had a bunch of crazy things in scenery.
There was a airport that had a VOR right in the middle of the runway.
The only way to fix these issues is to install different scenery or make a patch for the problem
That is what I did for the VOR in the runway
But I have to admit this is not a easy thing to do. as you have to know the latitude and longitude of the problem than you can remove the problem.
It is easier to just download different scenery for that location. and delete the old scenery.

I have the gold edition with the acceleration expansion pack. I looked for an add on but so far none exist. Not much call for flying to Belize I presume.
Maybe someday I will develope an interest in adding and fixing scenery. But my first priority will be putting realistic looking bridges in Florida.

It is the default scenery that has this problem.

Prepared V2.2 has two airports listed for Belize; Philip S W Goldson Intl, and San Pedro.

The Philip S W Goldson Intl runway is clear and the Airport has some nice buildings.

My post is more to point out that that different versions, of what is basically the same program, do indeed differ.

Also, posting that picture gives you something to compare "your" airport, to what I'm seeing.

It is after all better than saying "Mine is different".

The problem may have to do with when each version came out.

Then too it could be that I have Orbx - FTX: Global.

When I used FSX and bought Orbx - FTX: Global I noticed that there were a number of airport improvements. More buildings, etc.

On the other hand, I also noticed that some well known FSX problems were not fixed/improved.

So the question is: Do those with runway problems not have Orbx - FTX: Global? Or is it all in the differing version of our flight sim?

I must admit, (lazy-old-me), that when I come across an airfield/airport that has scenery problems, I tell myself its only a game... :D ....and find another airfield/airport that doesn't have scenery problems....
....lots of them around!... ...!

I understand this point of view, since I really have no need to simulate a drug running flight into Belize. With the thousands of airports that FSX includes there were bound to be a few with some glitches. If and when I see a patch pop up for downloading I will probably get it.
