Ford Project DH91 Albatross and Textures Released

Hi Good People,

For those that are interested Edward and I have Packaged up Jens B. Kristensen's deHavilland 91 Albatross (with his consent of course) and a small bucket of era specific liveries.



As many may know only around 6 Albatross's were every manufactured before deHavilland was required to focus on the Mosquito production for WWII.

The Albatross was an outstanding piece of design work for 1938, almost revolutionary in what it delivered as a passenger aircraft in comparision to other developers. But unfortunately the potential was never fully explored.

We, the Ford Project Team, thought we would do some "what if" liveries for this classic aircraft and give her a bit of artificial history as a World Class Passenger aircraft.

Hi,

thanks for the great repaints!

I downloaded the package and flew it in Golden Wings - they looked just great.

Then I applied the textures to the FSX version and they looked even better.

Good to hear that the textures work in FSX as well as FS2004 - hope they are enriching your flight sim experiences.

Very nice, Garry!

I tried it out on my laptop (my "Edwards Air Force Base" for trying new aircraft beore installing them in my big-screen desktop).

I probably messed up the installation because there is no sound. Should the sound file be copied or moved to the Sound folder?

Hi Art,

Sound Files accompany the install and should have been put into the sound directory within the DH91 aircraft directory.

Remember that this is standard for a FS2004 installation - if your using her in FSX then I am not certain that things will go where they should be.

If you are using it in FS2004 then you should have sound for all of the effects required. If no sound in FS2004 then let me know and I will see if I can guide you in achieving such.

Hi Robin,

The background plan view of the DH91 is very poor quality - already scaled up from a small image that was a 2 colour jpg - scaling that up to be a Splashscreen would not turn out very well. Suitable as a background for the vibrant liveries but pretty dull and boring just by itself.

But if you like it then feel free to right click on the image - copy it - save it - convert it to BMP and save - then use it for your splash screen.
