Missing AI Traffic

Postby mustangaroo » Sun May 18, 2014 5:30 am

How would all my ai aircraft go awol? I think it has to do with the default flight plans being hi-jacked by an add on program. Not being that savvy about how FSX goes about things I think the files are still there but do not know where to look to remedy this. I do not know if re-installing FSX will work or repair this but I am hoping that this has a fix. I feel like the Omega man of the skies.

After much frenzied thought I finally got into the fsx config and added a line for ai in the sim objects. I then copied ai aircraft into a folder that I created for it in sim objects vis a vis explorer....drag and drop stuff. I started fsx and went to seatac to see if anything took and was surprised by a formation of md-10-30s of about twelve and they were flying tight. I still do not know what to do about the default ai stuff but this is a stumble forward.  :!:

The reason your A.I. Traffic went on Strike, is most likely because, somewhere / somehow you've Injected Flight Simulator 2004 A.I. Traffic into your FSX, and when that happens, it kills ALL A.I. Traffic - --------} "ALL" A.I. Traffic !!!

Yup - I found out the same way, then thru research found out FSX users , "CAN NOT" inject FS 2004 AI Flight plans into FSX !

Upon doing so will totally KILL ALL AI Traffic.

All it takes is 1 2004 AI Traffic file from somebodys scenery and Poof, there goes your AI Traffic.

there was a utility to locate only 2004 AI Traffic files in FSX and delete it / them, but I can't remember where or what it was ???

Scenery Developers please quit putting FS 2004 AI Flight plans into your FSX scenery, it won't work, wasn't designed to work.

either use AI FSX Traffic or none at all in your add on sceneries, too many problems otherwise !

AI Flight Planner will analyze your AI traffic & convert FS9 traffic BGLs to FSX format. http://stuff4fs.com/newpage.asp?Folder=AIFP&JS=true

Thank you every one. If I had known the issues about the flight plans I would never have injected the scenery files that looked GOOD but did not come with a clear warning. I had fspassenger loaded up and it put my puter in the mud.... so after reasoning things out I deleted it and it took my flight plans with it.... as it said it would. I am beginning to wonder if some of the port over aircraft might carry a bug which does the same. I put net 4 in and now MAYBE the aifp program will fly right.  :D
