P3D seems to have one of the main (realistic) things that I miss in my FS2004 and FSX...

Clouds casting shadows on the ground, etc.....just like I see in real life!

How wonderful would that be.....chasing shadows on the cultivated fields down below, in Cal Central Valley!

Paul....FS2004 + FSX....and a cloudy lemonade... :mrgreen: ...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Yeah Chuck! I'm flying DX10 with payware fixer only! SweetFx 1.5 wreaked havoc with my anti aliasing too! It took me three days of trial and error to come up

with a good config. but it was worth it. I use Nvidia Inspector for anti aliasing and SweetFX to adjust tonemap, gamma and curves only and adjust color through

tonemap and curves as required/wanted! Here is my settings, but they only look right in DX10 not Dx9 and I'm not sure in P3D's DX11

Happy flying,

Greg!

What do you do with the settings text document? I manually changed some settings and got it to look a little better......AA still doesn't look as good as it did before Sweet FX though :shifty:
I've tried using Nvidia Inspector to override the P3D AA.....doesn't seem to work with P3D though :roll: I'll post some shots. You'll see what I mean about the AA :cry:

It goes in the FSX root directory!

If your using SweeyFX 1.5 go to the SweetFX Data Base and download the only P3D settings text and drop it in FSX root! (BACKUP)! Then experiment!

I can't or do not need to use AA...HDR...Bloom in sweetfx as they are frame killers in DX10 and Nvidia does a better job!

As far as Nvidia, I only no how to tweak FSX DX10. In DX10 you have to make sure you have anti aliasing and anistropic filtering ticked! On!

Otherwise it won't work.

Also you have to have these two lines added to your fsx.cfg

[Graphics]
MultiSamplesPerPixel=4
MultiSampleQuality=8

The numbers must correspond to the amount of 8xCSAA/4xSGSS! If I were using 4xAA/4xSGSS it equal 4...4 not 4...8

8xAA/8xSGSS would be 8...8 and so on!

Nvidia Inspector does have a pre-defined Prepar3d setting, but it doesn't look like it's using any AA at all!

Here is a picture of my Nvidia Inspector settings for FSX DX10; The only thing that I change is SGSS higher when needed!

Image

Driver controlled LOD Bias to OFF LOD Bias(DX) to +0.000 and Negative LOD Bias to Clamped

will cut down on any distant shimmering to a great degree!

Kosta's is trying to come up with some good settings for P3D v2.2 which, I assume is what you have!

You might enjoy THIS from the video section! :o Best viewed in 1080p :snooty:
