Touring Europe

P3D, no add-ons at all.

Coming into Ljubljana in Slovenia at sunset. I wonder what the local delicacies are?

There usually is a bottle of slivovitz (sp?) involved before a meal. After that you won't care or remember what you ate last night.

Slovenian cuisine is a mixture of the Central European cuisine (especially Austrian and Hungarian), the Mediterranean cuisine and the Balkan cuisine. Historically, Slovenian cuisine was divided into town, farmhouse, cottage, castle, parsonage and monastic cuisine. Due to the variety of Slovenian cultural and natural landscapes, there are more than 40 distinct regional cuisines.

A great picture.

Before you know it, the mods will need to separate the FSX and Prepar3d screen shots!

The land textures from Orbx looks just as impressive in FSX as in P3d.

BUT, as good as some of the weather products like REX4 look in FSX, in general P3d, even in its basic form, gives a better sense of "atmosphere".

Thanks for the comments.

Slivovitz mmmmm, never had it before but in the interests of research I'm willing to give it a go. ;)

Dave, I am now slobbering. That fantastic description of the local Slovenian cuisine convinces me that English food has got to be the most boring food in the world......I might stay in Slovenia longer than expected.

The visibility settings where: 1 layer from 0 to 5000 ft @ 30 miles. The result was visible mist in the distance. Love the volumetric fog. HDR was switched on, I don't normally fly with it on because the frame hit is too big on my rig.

Next stop Greece. Here we are turning in for Athens.

Here I have cloud and interior shadows switched on. The cloud shadows are not a big hit on my machine until I fly under one :( Interior shadows are no issue at all.

Here's the same view from the passenger seat. The built in camera editing in P3D is easy as X,Y,Z.

BRAVO, A EUROPEAN TOUR!

That's on of the many things that I haven't even thought of trying in P3d yet.

I'm assuming that it's a "per plane" setting and not a sim setting useable with all aircraft?

Yes, per plane. It does get saved when you save a flight. Adjust x,y,z relative to the pilot position any distance up to 100mtrs. There is another function which provides a fixed untethered camera position based on lat and long, haven't tried that one yet.

While I'm in Athens, here's a postcard:

Building shadows cripple my system. They also tend to flicker a lot so not worth using on my rig. (apart from screenies)
