There are a lot of planes that I like for a lot of different reasons.
But
real "world air travel" once belonged to the flying boats.
If you have the time, read Ken Follett's
Night Over Water. This book is also carried in many libraries as a download.
I've read it once, and listened to it twice while driving. Either way, it's great.
BTW - These are four switches that I've added to my yoke.
The
top right switch lowers and raises the wing tip floats on planes like the Grumman Goose. The light is lit when they're down.
The
bottom right switch lowers and raises the rudders on planes like the Beaver. Again, when the rudders are in the down position, the light is lit. Don't want to forget that they're down, you know.
