Ummmm....I think you are missing some info in the FS world.
Firstly, and this is critical:
BACK UP ANY FILE YOU EDIT FIRST!!!!Simplest and fastest way is to click on aircraft.cfg, click COPY then immediately click PASTE. A file named aircraft-COPY.cfg will be created.
If you get the bird so scribledy-S$%^ it won't fly at all, simply delete the one you were working and rename your BACKED UP file back to aircraft.cfg.
what is in the effects folder
1) Effects are things like vapor train, internal and external light, engine smoke and so on. purely eye candy stuff. has NOTHING to do with the aircraft movement, speed etc. Normally the contents of the Effects folder are copied off into your FSX Effects folder, such as c:\FSX\Effects.
2)Does it
say in the install file (readme.txt normally) to actually copy the sound folder over from another aircraft, or just alias to another aircraft? In other words, does your aircraft
have a sound folder wilth sound.cfg(at least) in it? Sound.cfg ONLY, or no sounds folder? You can go to another aircraft, RCkick on the SOUND folder in that aircraft's folder (C:\fsx\A380\sound for example)and then click copy. Go back to you install aircfraft (C:\fsx\Maylaysa\ for exampple)rclick on an empty spot in the aircraft's folder and click PASTE. OR you can also go to the aircraft you want to copy FROM, highlite the sound folder, hit ctrl+c, go to you target (installing) aircraft, and hit ctrl+v.
3)Now we come to the fun parts....to make your bird go faster, you need to open the plane's aircraft.cfg (C:\FSX\Maylaysa\aircraft.cfg, for example) file with
NOTEPAD, the Windows included text editor. Scroll down to a section labeled
[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain = 0.002 //Gain on fuel flow
inlet_area = 19.6 //Square Feet, engine nacelle inlet area
rated_N2_rpm = 29920 //RPM, second stage compressor rated value
static_thrust = 23500 //Lbs, max rated static thrust at Sea Level
afterburner_available = 0 //Afterburner available?
reverser_available = 1 //Thrust reverser available?
increase the static_thrust= value some (say 24500 up from 23500). Keep nudging this value up a bit at a time until it's what you need. To increase the aircraft's top speed,
DECREASE the
inlet_area = 19.6 value 1.00 units at a time till it does what you want it to. Smaller units (0.5 for example) may be used to fine tune this. Verify this at normal cruising altitude, no pax and only minimal fuel.
To change the responsiveness of the aircraft, there are a few things you can do.
Look for a secion, still in the aircraft.cfg file, btw,
[flight_tuning]
cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0
parasite_drag_scalar = 1.0
induced_drag_scalar = 1.0
elevator_effectiveness = 1.0
aileron_effectiveness = 1.0
rudder_effectiveness = 1.0
pitch_stability = 1.0
roll_stability = 1.0
yaw_stability = 1.0
elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
Increase
elevator_effectiveness = 1.0 by 0.1 unit increments until the bird is answering the helm as you like it to

This can be done for all 3 axes. Also decrease the
pitch_stability = 1.0 sections by 0.1 aty a time. These ineract with the other adjustment so only use small increments on each.
ALTERATIVELY you can cut-n-paste the mentioned section from the A380 you like into the aircraft you don't like. Or any individual LINE out of that section from one plane to another.
Having gone through all THAT, you can also find the section
[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE], and under that look for
;Moments of Inertia
empty_weight_pitch_MOI = 3172439
empty_weight_roll_MOI = 2262183
empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 3337024
empty_weight_coupled_MOI = 0
To make the bird MORE responsive, slightly LOWER any axis' value by say about 10 units until it's doing what you want.
Remember that
this section interacts with previous 2 sections I mentioned so adjust all the different sections
SLIGHTLY until you are happy.
Once again, you can also copy this section over from the aircraft you like, altho THIS is a bit trickier, as the W&B affects a lot of different things the aircraft does. I would personally NOT choose that method.
Finally, and this is critical:
BACK UP ANY FILE YOU EDIT FIRST!!!!Simplest and fastest way is to click on aircraft.cfg, click COPY then immediately click PASTE. A file named aircraft-COPY.cfg will be created.
If you get the bird so scribledy-S$%^ it won't fly at all, simply delete the one you were working and rename your BACKED UP file back to aircraft.cfg.
I hope all this helps a little bit. Please feel free to ask questions, It's how humans learn things
