PMDG 777-200LR & F

Postby Speed of flight » Thu Apr 17, 2014 12:18 pm

As I type this, I'm downloading the PMDG 772. I've heard nothing but great things about this airliner, and am so excited to finally get it.
Question: I have a pretty powerful PC, but does anybody that has this jet know about its resource use? Meaning, I think my system is pretty good, but what to expect for frames, or performance? how about its realism?

Ok, it's all done. Guess it's time to just try it out. I'm pretty excited, if anyone couldn't tell...

You bought it right? Becuase if you didn't... I have the right to not help you out, and as the only one who has it here... so

I have a Lenovo Y570 with a i7Quad quore at 2.4GHz Navidia 555M Graphics. I have everything set to medium, but some texture parts to high and running ORBX and REX and I get 10-15FPS around LA, and when over the ocean around 30 with all cockpit graphics on high.

Well realsim, it's PMDG so you know it's going to be the real thing and it is. I got her the day it came out and its been epic.
BTW B772 is a regular B777-200ER... It's a B77L ;)

I certainly did pay for it. In this era, it is sad that, often, this is not the case.

At $90.00, it was a hard sell to the wife, but I finally got it. I made a first flight, but surely this is not a bird that one can just jump in to. I must read a bit first.

As for performance, the "other" pay ware 777 is far more abusive in my machine, and doesn't come close in realism. This is definitely the one to get.

PMDG has hit a real home-run this time, as expected.

I can't get enough if the thing. The depth is like nothing else I have, and I have a number of ad on airliners. Certainly going to need to read about weight and balance, the FMC, and navigation with this one. I can already tell that this is a whole new level and class of simulation. No bluffing allowed.

Easy on the frames. Not as tough on my system as many other affine I have. Rocking a solid 25+ out of KSFO with ultimate traffic on, and a lot of traffic. I am very pleased with this addon.

Just for clarification:
I think it would be aufully brazen to go ahead and say that I'm downloading the thing, if I hadn't actually, you know, bought it.

Furthermore, it was your recommendation that had me consider the thing in the first place. I find it rather disarming to first suspect that I'm a software thief.

That said, I'm making my first flight from KBFI->VHHX. Long haul. First one with it. This jet needs its pilot to read a little before jumping in and flying it. My default pitch trim control doesn't work with it, inspiring me to read the manual. I covered the basics so far, and learned that one must set the trim in the FMC before takeoff. No foolin around. She wants all the necessary info. No more jump in and go. No sir.

Definitely a new and awesome take on flight simming. It's not just a jet. It's a hot mama with big stuff in all the right places.
Highly immersive, and certainly not the choice aircraft for a quick hop. She is definitely a "World Liner", and PMDG has made a high-fidelity sim model here.

Hats off to these fine engineers. Worth every penny.

Sorry for jumping to that, I mean, to many people do that.

It is a fantastic plane to fly, and you're right worth everything. It took me a long a** time to read the manual and fly her like the real thing. Have fun

Imagine if you were walking down the street reading a text message and someone asked 'did you buy that phone or steal it?'

I think no one should be suspected of any illegal downloading unless they have hinted that they have done so. It's not something that would enter into my head unless I had a specific reason to think that.

Again, I am sorry for jumping to that conclusion. I didn't mean to start anything, it's that they PMDG 777 is the most illeagly downloaded aircraft for FSX currently and just wanted to make sure.
