AND!! According to "the scientists", when that particular portion of the world pings, it causes reverb around the world, including the Sylmar quake back in the 70's. The world "rings like a bell", altho to my mind the freq's are just a tad lower...

Stand by for more from the area possibly to be affected by the reverb....

You think YOU are!!!

And they just (1 hr ago) had a 7.1 in the same area. Are they pre- or after-shocks?? No Tsunami reports yet, buuuut.....

And Crater Lake, the Three Sisters mountains, Shasta, Mt. McLaughlin, and Lassen are all semi-active or dormant volcanoes located near me.
ANNNNND! Let's not forget the mass abandonments of Yellowstone by all the hoofed critters there-in.

To me, SOMEthing is happening, and at human speed, which for geology is near instantaneous.

Pat, sweating out the wait...

Pat...
I spend a lot of time watching the local news involving natural hazards; earthquakes, fires, floods, etc, in your neck of the woods, (Pacific Coast), then I fire up my Flight Sim and survey the affected scenery!
San Francisco and LA are still waiting for the Very Big One!

Recent: ...>>> http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-26615047

California is a vary dangerous place to live, (even without the locals living there!).... ....!

...so the Earthquake and Tsunami in Chile is an interesting place to visit in my Cessna 152 to survey the scenery there.

Ta, G.K....

Thanks for the new Map!...(Saved it).

I have a few USGS Maps, together with local Kron4 News, and LA Times News, to keep me up to date with North America, Pacific Coast activity.

Never a dull moment...and gives me a reason to closely explore those areas in my Flight Sim.....

...that's what Flight Simming is all about for me....exploration!

Used to watch KRON every night, 2200-2230 before bed. Dad insisted :D
Back in those days, I was the remote. Dad smack me on the back of the head, channel up, left side, channel down, top, volume up too high, all over, SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN, and leave yer sister alone!
The fine tuning was presumed on a channel change LOL!

Those were the good ol days tho, when a smack on the head or the tail was noy only allowed, but encouraged by the "authorities". Great way to raise a kid, IMO, too!
My first Flight Intructor, one Goldie by name, used a similar system from the rear cockpit with a yardstick when I was learning gliders too, come to think. I always knew when I had messed up bad enough to warrant him taking the controls, because I would wake up during the unusual attitude recovery proceedure :confusion-seeingstars:   He was darn good with that yardstick too, let me tell you! :violence-stickwhack:

Never fear, Pat....I am never far away in my C150...!

Kron4 news, and breaking news, is E-Mailed to me every day to observe the daily, dastardly goings-on in California and the surrounding area!

http://news.kron4.com/

Death, destruction and general mayhem...(nothing too unusual).... ....!

I also get my Cal weather information from them, for my daily Cal flights!

Paul....puttering above San Andreas.... :o ....!
