:violence-chainsaw:
Annnnd still more ancient Ones are murdered for Human greed and monetary gain.:violence-smack:

Personally, and this is just me, I wish they would all slowly burn to death from the floor up in a slow fire...:violence-hammer: :violence-hammer:

My apologies to all for such a downer post, but this sort of thing is important to me. I am no tree hugger by any stretch, and am more than willing to utilize the readily renewable resource wood provides, and yet to have destroyed 95% + of trees that take over 1000 years to grow seems to me a very sad thing. These redwood die from natural causes all the time, and there is the wood for us to use. Leave the living to their...living.
There are many many other sources of wood from much faster growing and easier to reproduce trees, and tech can make wood look like anything these days. Use planted, new-growth trees, and leave these ancients alone! Walk among them, listen to them, talk to them if you desire, enjoy them, but stop slicing and dicing the live ones beacause they are "pretty"! It makes them stop being pretty very quickly.
Especially consider: you are slicing open and stealing a portion of their reproductive organs! Think about someone doing such a thing to you!

Ok, rant over, my apologies again, folks, to me this is signifigant...

Excellent subject!

Every night I see this advert on my Television, and I wonder to myself where are they getting all these long-lived, magnificent Oak Trees from, to make all this low cost furniture?...>>>> http://www.oakfurnitureland.co.uk/

Most furniture is made from scrap wood chippings, etc, covered with wood veneers, which, I imagine, has limited adverse effect on precious forests.

But all this solid Oak furniture for public consumption, always worries me!

Paul....a bit of a tree-hugger.... ;) ...!

Thank you all for the support. I wish I were still capable of camping out for a few weeks at a time, try and....discourage...these killers... :violence-snipersmiley:

Like I said..."Discourage!" One can only teach so many classes before a little of it sinks in...

What I would like to say about poachers would probably be removed by the mods.

Normal hunting is fine with me.

If you want to see what ISN'T fine with me, click on the word poachers
