I've had it for about a 1 1/2 years now. I use it on and off depends on where I'm flying and want to look at and locate. Nice moving map for VFR 4sure. Like any type of device like this it does have it's draw backs, and thats where skyvector comes into play and bails me out :)

The BSSMM over at Blue Sky which is basically the same was the 1st I used until one day when I loaded it the map wouldn't come up. I contacted them and informed them. No responce was ever given back, redownloaded their product at a later date, and the map never came up, said the link they used to connect to was no good. So I use the FSWidgets GMAP and gave up on BSSMM.

I was just wantin some to Kinda Have to tinker with, but, if I'm gonna have to go in and edit 1/2 my CFG Files and all kinds of other files,, just to have a simple little map,, it too can find the Dumpster like the last 2 programs.

dunno' sure am glad my Track IR, and someother programs I have I didn't have to spend mundane hours trying to figure it out and I didn't have to edit Jack diddly squat and everything works fine still 3 years later !!!

thanks for the reply, stil don't know if its really gonna work yet or not, foolin with it now.

Simply Amazing :P :P :P

it works likes its supposed to !!

I "didn't" have to go in a play Code programmer, for hours on end , to make the thing work !

its up and runnin, the MAP shows and gives me what I was wantin, nothing to fancy, just a general map and I can choose 4 different levels.

and to think I started this little venture at 9am this moring, I got caught up in that "other" program that supposedly would display Bing Maps, didn't know you had to buy bingy maps program to make that utility work, wasn't anything in the instructions about that part of it, guess I was just supposed to "know", everybody is just supposed to "know".

I "know" this much, it works like I was wantin in the 1st place, wayyyyyyyyyyy back at 9:00 this mornin' :D :D :P

I should of just used this program instead and not even bothered with that other Mind Bogglin twisted program in the 1st place - go figure !

For my GPS Moving Maps I use:

FS Tramp for FSX: ...>>> http://www.fstramp.com/

Plan-G v 2.0.5 for FS 2004/FSX:....>>> http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/

"FS Tramp" is the equivalent to "FS Navigator" for FS 2002/FS 2004.

"Plan G version 2.0.5" includes the Google Satellite Maps (The latest Version 3 doesn't!).

Both programs FREE!
Excellent moving map programs...Vital for Multiplayer, to see other pilots in the session!

Paul...I love Maps... ...!

P.S I later purchased the full version of FS Tramp to obtain the greater ground terrain (hills) detail.
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Question #1 So What kind of drawbacks does does it have?

Question #2 How did you get skyvector to work with it?

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

Well I downloaded FSWidgets moving map, the garmin one, and it's pretty good except I can't get any charts to load eventhough it says they are loaded. The demo sectional for LA shows up and overlays the google map when you select it but the one I downloaded and calibrated as per the instructions doesn't appear when it's supposedly loaded.

I use FSMAP. You can down load a bunch of map files from another site I will not mention (SORRY) but I promised not to.
If you send me a Private message I will be more than glad to tell you where you can get the map files from
I almost forgot this uses a gramin GMX200 display and is great for showing you the complete airport.
It is great when you are at a new air port and you do not know where taxi way foxtrot is at. You can find it with this and see how to get there. It shows all of the parking spaces as well.

here is the link http://www.fsmap.net/
Granted it is not free but it works for both FSX and FS9 and has a great traffic radar
