Where is that Airport ??

Ever wonder where that Airport is at that you see on this site sometimes, wanna know more about it , see photos of it, get Airport info, like Length of runway, and Altitude and codes and all that other Technical Stuff .

Try fiddling around on this site for a while SKY Vector. com

Quite useful for helping to plan flights, find where your at , where your going or, just to get lost !

There are several sites like this I use http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/tools/airport.php?id=LPFL for international airports
and http://www.airnav.com/ For airports in the USA Airnav is a real FAA approved site. One can also find navaids on this site for VOR'S and NDB'S
That is how I discovered that my home base KJAX changed runway numbers they were 7 & 25 and 13 & 31 now the same runways are 8 & 26 and 14 & 32
Magnetic deviation is what made them change

I mostly use SKY Vector.

I've also used Smithplanet and AirNav.

Smithplanet can't find one of my favorite airfields - LSTS - St Stephan, Switzerland, but id presents the current weather very nicely.

It's also missing the radio navigation info that I want.

AirNav is perfect for that. IF the airport is in the US.

SKY Vector presents all that info best of all, and in a very easy to read format.

I gather that most of you have heard of the two cases where a pilot landed at the wrong airport. I came close one time but what gave it away was the ILS was not correct. And the fact that I was supposed to be landing on say runway 8 and I see a big 7 instead. I pulled up and called a missed approach. One has to pay attention to the little things
