As i said, never got any scenery errors as Hagar showed. Why is that?

Maybe i should try to add Addon scenery to FSX library, but then i'm sure i'll get an error :violin:

Kurt. Check that Addon Scenery is listed on your Scenery Library menu. Perhaps it's been deleted.

I've checked that.
Ref my previous post
""The interesting issue here is, i have none Addon scenery in my scenery.cfg and i have none Addon scenery in FSX library, and i've never got any scenery errors when loading FSX!""
and its sure has been deleted!
That is why i ask, why and when.

This could be another Wonderland issue, and that makes it interesting....
Ok, i'll try to add >Addon scenery< into library and see what happens

Sorry. I missed that. I can't explain why it would be deleted without your knowledge. If it's not listed on the Scenery Library menu you won't get any error messages.

If you don't use the Addon Scenery directory & your FSX works perfectly I wouldn't worry about it.

Need to check if its related to COPxxxxx.bgl (arrestor cable).
Thanks again, see you.

I know alot about sceneries and therefor also scenery.cfg's.

My Q was, why/when are FSX (windows) deleting my >[Areaxx] Addon scenery< when installing other Addon folders inside Addon Scenery?

Are they using an install program . If so this could be a problem. A good example would be if you install a scenery using a self installer that came with it, It is possible that the person who made the installer is putting the scenery say in area 13 so when you go to install it it will erase what ever is in area 13.
This is just one reason I never install anything into FSX or FS9. I always put it in a folder outside of FSX or FS9 then I look at it to see what it has installed.
The only other thing that can cause files to disappear like this would be a hard drive starting to fail.
This one drove me crazy I would install a program and than when I went to run the program shortly afterwards it would give me a error saying the program could not be found. Now mind you I got no errors during the install. But after I got the error I looked on the drive and there was no program there not even 1 folder . I doubt it if your hard drive is starting to fail on you though.
Or perhaps your antivirus program is removing them. But if that was the case you would get a message stating so.

One thing is for sure files just do not disappear without a reason.
Something you could check would be your system event viewer to see if any thing strange happened
If you want to make sure your hard drive is not the problem you can run a check disk program and select check for read and write errors. But beware this can take some time depending on the size of the drive.

First of all, i want to apologize beegee, if we are taking over his thread, tho, i think its still ontopic.

@Gary. I never install .exe files directly, UNLESS its from trusted sites like REX and ORBX (They are big and needs alot of files in different places to work)!
If you've read other topics and posts, you would've seen my problems with my pc! And i tell you, i've been through every system maintenance!!
Its not a file that disappeared, its an entry in scenery.cfg, and i think it is going way back.
My backup .cfg is dated June 2011. The next i got is dated sep 2012 (F-16 Fighting Falcon install), and it shows exactly what i got now. (Remember its a backup)
Anyway thanks again ;)

Sorry about that I guess I strayed a little of course  All in all I still think something somewhere had to replace this entry. By chance do you have a file named scenery.bak if so try looking there.
Be careful using old restore dates as you will loose any thing you put on that drive between the two dates. I have a habit of once a month making back ups of critical FSX files just in case I keep them in a folder outside of FSX just to be on the safe side.
If it was me I would not use system restore I would re download that file and manually put it where it needs to be this just might be your best bet. But it is your system do what you fell is comfortable to you.

Keep us informed 8-)

Thats ok Gary.
If you read the previous posts in this thread, you will see it is scenery.cfg and scenery.cfg backups i'm talking about.
I am NOT talking about restoring my system going years back!! That would certently be the most stupid thing to do! I think you agree....
I am going to let my FSX run "at ease" as i have no problems, but that dosn't mean i wont make experiments ;)
