Need help with a alarm bell I cant seem to find to turn off. Downloaded the Lockheed Electra 188 pkg with Reeves, PSA and Eastern Airlines liveries and there is a alarm that keeps ringing. Anyone know how to turn it off? Thanks.....

Are you flying too fast?

Check to see if you're overspeed.

Hi Ramprat.
I have encountered the same problem on the L188 as well as on some DC-8's. It is really a pain.
I have checked and rechecked the soundfile but cannot locate it.
The bell starts ringing immediately an keeps doing so during the entire flight, even before startup.
It seems to be somewhere in the Aeromusica file which are used in these a/c.
I gave up searching and fly these a/c with sound turned off.

From Jetranger

Ya, but which L-188 for sure, theres like 3 different ones ya can choose from.

theres the "Model by J R Lucariny" L-188

and then the Team KBT which is the ones I've got,,,,

If I remember right,, that sound your wantin is in the main Sound folder, of FSX,,, not the aircraft sound folder,,,

I think if I remember right, been a while ago over a 1.5 years now,,,, I had to just go thru and listen,,, to the sound files, to catch it,,, and I just deleted it,,, think I recall it being almost like an alarm clock bell,,, can't remember now,,, been to long.

another way is to listen for the sound in the package you downloaded and catch the file name there,, then hunt for that rascal in your main flight simulator sound folders,,, been 1 way of catching it,,,

I have that KBT Package with about 22 different liverys I managed to find on different web sites over the course of a week,,,,

really took some searching too.

I don't have the JR Lucinry model,,, so if that's the one ya got,,, I can't help ya,,, slap me later and back over me with a truck !

Do you remember which L 188 you are using, there is a lot of them?
I'm using the one from JR Lucariny and I have not this problem.
If you indicate which L188, I will have a look

I have tested the aircraft and I have not this problem but in the read-first.txt file I think we have the explanation:

Usage: (Its best to start sim with engines off)
On the num keypad hit 0 to activate panel and hit w a few times to get the 2d panel.
Use the Shift + 1-9 keys for the 2d panel controls.
If engines are already started then hit Ctrl + Shift + F1 to shut them off and wait
a few seconds for props to stop. Hit Ctrl + Shift + F4 to turn fuel on to engines.
Hit Shift + 6 twice in the electra to get the 747 engine start panel up above.
Make sure your parking brakes Ctrl + . are activated before starting engines
unless you want your plane flying forwards. Now you can click the black
knobs above one by one or in whatever order you want them to start. Its IMPORTANT
that you push each knob back in after each use or you will run into
a sound loop that wont stop till you push them back in
. Once engines are on you
can hit W key to return to the better gauge view for flying.

On the other hand, the panel uses a lot of gauges from different authors and that could be an explanation to the problem.

What you could do is to use this panel:

http://simviation.com/1/browse-Panels-60-14

and replace the content of Sound.cfg file by by this

[fltsim]

Hi,
I had a similar problem on a different aircraft.

If you open the "sound.config" file and look for an entry called "[WIND_SOUND]", then it should be "wind_general.wav" in the main "Sound" FSX folder..

It worked for me.
