Outside/Spot Plane View Issues.

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Outside/Spot Plane View Issues.

Postby Cheveyo » Sun Nov 17, 2013 12:22 am

So I'm new to the FSX world as of tonight, and it sure looks amazing. However one of the views I used quite heavily in FS9 was the spot plane, in a fixed mode with the aircraft, and the number pad for changing the angle. FSX seems to be missing this completely...no matter what I do even in "Locked Spot" the view is still locked to the scenery while the aircraft turns. I've been researching for a fix to bring it back to the FS9 style but no luck. Surely someone has a fix for this that actually works :?:

and also the S button,,,,

Hi Cheveyo,

When in locked spot viewing mode, to reset the position that your looking at your aircraft, hold the space bar down and move your mouse to reset the view.

One big difference between FSX and FS9 are the outside views.
In FSX it cycles between the following views Spot view tower view and a outside plane view which can vary from plane to plane. Mind you I may not have the order in the correct sequence. It always tells you which view you are in. What I usually do is press the S key one time this will put you in spot view. Then to get out of spot view I press Crtl+S this takes you back to the main view. One other thing is on some aircraft when you come back it comes back to a virtual cockpit and you have to press shift + 1 to see the gauges again. Something I plan on trying to stop just have to figure out where it is at.

..do you know what... ....

I just wish that the designers of FSX had retained all the very many best bits of FS 2004, when it came to all sorts of things regarding the various menus, views, etc!

Even now, I still cant get used to the strange organisation of the FSX menu bits and bobs, compared to the wonderful FS 2004 arrangement!

I always use the HAT on my joystick to pan views. This works the same in all versions of MSFS.
