Win8 and 2 monitors

Postby panting007 » Sat Nov 16, 2013 2:53 pm

When I try and move my instrument panel to my second monitor it works just fine, in the views. But when the instrument panel is on the second monitor it is no longer clickable. I can't change anything. I didn't have this problem with my old Win7 machine. Has anyone else had similar issues? Thanks in advance.
I'm not a real pilot, but I play one on FSX.

I know that the downgrade to Win7 is always a possibility. There has to be someone out there that has been having similar problems with multi-monitors.

There are a lot of problems with Windows 8. Flight sims are just one of many.

If someone gave me a copy, I would install it on an old hard drive. But I would never buy it.

Can I assume that the second monitor is an "extension" of your primary desktop? You can drag a windowed program so that it shows on both screens?

Try it with a YouTube (or other video).

Next set of questions; How old is this system? Is it a completely new system, or did you reuse parts from your old system?

I can drag the desktop all over the place. And I can use both monitors, just not in FSX. It is a totally new system. I just don't understand why it won't work in FSX. Could it be something in the FSX config?

It isn't going to be a cofig problem.

If it were an older system I would have said that it was a video card driver/software problem because I had a similar problem.

It could still be a video card driver that isn't fully compatible with Win 8.

If not, then it's a Windows 8 problem.

Can you ask the computer maker to replace the video card with a totally different make? If they say no, threaten to return the computer?
