Airbus A400 for FS 2004

Can we get the Airbus A400 for Flight Simulator 2004? All the ones I see work only in FSX.

Lots of luck finding finding this. Since FSX was released people stooped creating things for FS2004. About the only thing you can do would be to download the one for FSX but do not put in in either sim just yet but put it in a separate folder. Then look for textures from A airbus for FS2004 and substitute the textures and hope they fit. I think the textures are the only difference between the two sims but I am not 100% sure on that.
The only other option is to try to get some one to create a fs2004 version for you. I know at Avsim there is a forum for just that
You might be able to find a payware version of this.

FS9 aircraft can run on FSX but native FSX planes can not run on FS9.
The main problem is due of the structure of the model, in FSX the native is composed of exterior model and interior model this is not compatible with FS9 that has only one model. No solution. If you get a FSX plane with only one model, this is a FS9 plane ported to FSX.
Second problem: gauges, some are valid for both simulators but there are only FSX gauges that don't work in FS9. Can be solved changing gauges.
Third: textures, also can be solved converting textures.
So if you get a A400 with a only one model you could try to use it in FSX.

Hi,
You could try the model posted some weeks ago by P Wallaert.
What you have to do is to transfer the A400.Cab file from the panel folder to the gauges folder

I've done a handful of these texture port overs myself. I'm running FS9 and seen textures that were only available on FSX aircraft that I wanted, so I downloaded them and put them side by side with the textures from my FS9 aircraft, then made changes where they were needed. Works like a charm. Most of the time if it's an aircraft from the same author you don't even need to make any changes at all. Of course, providing the FSX textures are in .Bmp format and aren't saved in that real big page format. Sometimes if that's the case you have to just change the format and/or size them down and they'll work.

BUT, I wouldn't dare upload them as a repiant cause they aren't mine. :naughty: This is strickly for personal use. :P I suppose if I just
ask the original repaint author if it would be ok to do so, they would let me. I've never tryed that one yet.

One aircraft I've done this with is the freeware (Overland: McDonnell Douglas MD-11) <--Beautiful Model! I mention this aircraft cause there are a bunch of repaints out there for this plane but the engine textures seem to be for a slightly different model. It takes me about 1 or 1-1/2 hrs. to convert the engine repaints to work on the FS9 model in my hanger. It sounds like alot and it is if you don't know how to repaint but if you got a grasp on repainting, it's no big deal.

Some of my favorite repaints out there I've done this for or I just like in general are:

FedEx, UPS, DHL, Lufthansa, JAL, KLM, Aeroflot, LOT (Polish Airlines).......

Dwayne... Tripping the light fantastic .. ;)

Sorry!
My phrase
So if you get a A400 with a only one model you could try to use it in FSX.
Should be:
So if you get a A400 with a only one model you could try to use it in FS9.

Totally untrue statement

FS9 models continued to be made and still do even now.
