A new hypersonic spy plane is coming from the company that helped invent the technology -- and this one will fly six times the speed of sound.

Bearing in mind, everything that has been produced by the Skunk Works has entered service and was flying actively a long time before the public and the media knew about (U2, SR-71, B1 to name only the ones we know about), I would not put much credence into this story other than the fact that......The USA has never retired a spy plane until the next one was already lurking in the wings (no pun intended). Anything in any news article about this aircraft is pure speculation by the media..............or misdirection by the Skunk Works themselves............The only known is, there will be a follow on from the SR-71 at some point. After all, an aircraft will always be faster and more manoeuvrable than a satellite.
