Depending on when the photo was taken it could be associated with the Kennedy assassination that took place November 22, 1963. I'm sure the scenes were filmed well in advance of the first season premier on September 26, 1964.

Hmm. I didn't think of that.

Aldous Huxley and C.S. Lewis died on November 22, 1963, but they weren't Americans so flags wouldn't be lowered for them so I'll go with your Kennedy theory.

The pilot episode, titled "Marooned", was filmed in November 1963. On November 22, the day of the John F. Kennedy assassination, the crew continued to work after hearing the shocking news.[2] The departure of the Minnow was filmed on November 26, and all the flags in that sequence can be seen flying at half-staff. The episode eventually aired on TBS twenty-nine years later on October 16, 1992.

I was born in 1963 / October ,,,,

as a note, the Calendar Year 2013 , is the same as Calendar Year 1963 , all the days fall on the exact same day as 1963, this calendar year 2013 !

We are now in a Time Warp,, the 22nd of November is upon us, the time is upon us, everything just like Calendar year 1963,,,

and at this time, I'd like to Report that 50 years ago today something tragically happened !!!
