FSX including FSX Steam version.

FSX error: 0x80040702

FSX will not install in w8 again giving this error below. Can you help again?

Your best bet is to type FSX error: 0x80040702 into your search engine and locate the Microsoft community help area. There is a reasonable amount of keying to be done. At first glance, it doesn't appear to be to much a problem, but it does have to be done in a precise step by step manner...Good luck. I feel your frustration.

I just Goggled the error you got and there are definitely a few steps involved here that need to be done in the correct order.

The only other thing I can think of, which may be easier in the long run...Back up your hard drive onto a thumb drive, or other media. Do a reset with win 8. You'll lose programs, but not files. Before you do anything else, download MSKB928080 and follow the instructions to reset that registry function. Install FSX, and Accelerator is you have it. That should give you a clean install with FSX. Afterwards, go to your back-up files and reinstall other programs as you need them. A pain in the tail feathers to be sure, but it should work. Please keep us informed.
