A little help, Please

FSX including FSX Steam version.

A little help, Please

Postby loomex » Thu Sep 05, 2013 12:45 pm

I seem to have lost the red text that indicates parking brakes, brakes, slew, and over speed. Here is what I have in the FSX cfg.

InfoBrakesEnable=True
InfoParkingBrakesEnable=True
InfoPauseEnable=True
InfoSlewEnable=True
InfoStallEnable=True
InfoOverspeedEnable=True

I changed it to false...nothing...changed it back...nothing...

any Ideas?

Check the [Main] section for;

HideInfoText=

0 (the default) displays 'red' text
1 hides all 'red' text.

Did you save the changes and restart FSX
If not than you will not see any change> any time you make a change to the FSX cfg file you must save it than restart FSX in order to see any difference.

I agree, using the fsx repair would do more harm than good in this situation.
You should save your fsx.cfg in a different folder.
Than delete the cfg. from the C:\Users\ ( You )\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX folder
Fire up the sim, it will write a new cfg. If all is good, than just copy and paste from your saved cfg any mods you made.
