Imaginary FSX Traffic!....

Postby Fozzer » Sun Sep 01, 2013 4:35 am

Including any form of moving Traffic, (Road Traffic, etc,) kills my FSX stone dead in the; "smoothness department"... ...
....so its comforting to see that either my Ultimate Terrain USA, or my ORBX FTX Global, or both, includes the appearance of "vehicles" on the highways and roads, with all my FSX "Traffic" switched off completely.... ;) ....

..in the same way that "Bernd's Road Textures_v1" did for my FS 2004, which included road "vehicles", (although stationary!)... ..!

A little imagination can go a long way when it comes to reality!... ...!

Paul...Beep-beep... ...!

..even little smudges of coloured textures appearing on the roads prevents me from feeling..."lonely".... ...!

If you have used "Bernds Road Textures v_1" texture replacement for FS 2004 you will be aware of the bare default road textures being replaced with textures that show stationary road vehicles, in a coloured, blurred form, nicely visible at about 1500-2000 feet AGL.

The similar effect appears in my FSX with my UT USA and FTX Global installed...
..its nice seeing busy roads below without the drastic frame rate hit of REAL FSX moving traffic!

I don't know if its due to UT USA, or FTX Global, or both, as I have both running at the same time.

Only the road textures are affected!...Any form of "Moving Traffic", land/air/water, is a definite no-no for my poor computer... ...!

Paul..Road runner...Meep-meep.... ...!

The programs you mentioned are responsible for what you are seeing. The programs have there own traffic textures which is why it has less effect on frame rates.
This is just like aircraft The more detailed the air craft the more it will effect frame rates.
Like I said in another post I do not use any ship traffic and very little ground traffic but turn up my AI traffic because I know they will have less effect on frame rates.
