My confusion is over now.
I created a separate folder called L-1049E.
Now it shows as a L-1049E (actually being a disguised L-1049G).
The funny thing is it now has two liveries, one is the KLM's 40 years, which gave me the trouble and the other one is surprisingly an Iberia 1049E, of which I never realized it was in my inventory.

It is amazing what one can find when they scrape the dust away.
