ORBX and Bowerman Muni = Love at first flight. Hope you downloaded the full Pac NW demo, all 695MBs of it. You won't be disappointed.

Just be aware that Orbx products are highly addictive! I mean really, really, REALLY addictive.

Oh sure, you say: I can stop with Pacific Northwest.

But what about the areas a little north, such as the Pacific Fjords? Mighty fine scenery along the coast and into the mountains. Good place to fly seaplanes.

And Washington State is nice and all, but how about BC, Idaho, and Western Montana in Northern Rocky Mountains?

Or maybe a little further south, say Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons in the Central Rocky Mountains?

And maybe some airports!

And maybe Northern California when it comes out in October!

Or maybe the ENTIRE WORLD in FTXGlobal!!!

Don't ask me how I know... :D

Hi Bruno,

Go to the FTX site (fullterrain.com) and look under "free stuff" on the main page. There are quite a few goodies in there, not to mention the Cascade range if you want to see what PNW looks like.

Before I say ANYTHING else, let me say that if I can get FTX Global reinstalled, I plan to stick with it.

To me, FTX Global is essential to FSX. I absolutely love it.

I had FTX Global running for a day or two, and I'll do whatever it takes to get it working again.

ON THE OTHER HAND......

I recently wiped FSX off my hard drive because of accumulated self induced errors.

Slowly, as time permitted, I've been re-installing my "must have" add-ons. FTX Global was to be one of the last ones.

Long short story - it may take a bit of work to re-install FTX Global. But I don't really know.

Because of a wedding anniversary today, I had little time to re-install it.

But, then, I didn't really expect it to take much time. At most I figured that it might ask to be authenticated again. No big deal.

It seemed to install ok. I started up FSX hoping to get in an hour or two last night. FSX loaded up to the main screen where you pick what and where to fly. Fine. After that point, it got up to 30 percent and just hung there. After forcing FSX to close through CTL-ALT-Del twice I let it hang overnight. Who knows. It may fix itself. :eusa-pray:

Still hanging Sunday morning. CTL-ALT-Del. Restart FSX. But this time I unchecked the FTX Global boxes.

Try to fly. SCENERY ERRORS. Area 119 was messing with Area 51 or something like that. We've all had that kind of problem. No big deal.

So I start learning about "The Big Deal" when I did a search for uninstall "ftx global".

THERE IS NO UNINSTALL! In fact there is no "un-official" uninstall procedure either because FTX Global makes a few, but significent changes to a few, but essential, FSX files.

One of the main reasons that I stopped installing "trial/demo" games was for that exact reason. The game companies would make changes to your system that made THEIR games run great. But often caused problems with other programs.

I have very little that FTX Global will mess up. And FTX Global is so good that I would willingly say goodbye to the 2 that I do have.

But before you buy, download, and install FTX Global, check out the link above.

After enjoying the delights of Freeware VOZ 1.8 and Payware FS Global 2010 for my FS 2004 for many years, now that I'm tending to use FSX more and more, it looks like I will have to purchase ORBX FTX Global now!...priced at £64 for the DVD version!... :o ...!

As a low flying pilot I appreciate nice scenery below me...(as the Bishop said to the Actress)... ;) ...!

The DVD version is around £5 dearer than the direct download version, but at least I get a DVD for easy re-insertion...(as the Bishop said, etc..)... :D ...!

Bass, glad to see you made a first step in the OrbX world :)
The area covered by this demo is quite huge: it goes from Bowerman up North until the sea (border between USA and Canada).
The whole "Olympic penisula" is covered, in fact. And there are many nice things to see.
I'd recommend you to pick up your favorite piston-engine airplane, take off from Borwerman, and head full north to land at Sekiu (11S) which is one of my favorite airfields in OrbX world. It very small, quite scenic, on the sea side but just behind a hill, with an approach over a little harbor. Superb 8-)

Are you sure about this "puts all the files per default on your desktop" ??
I don't remember having anything to do to install the demo... The install program did everything for me... But ok, that was a long time ago...
