Problem with Nemeth Designs CH-53E

Postby MadChips445 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 2:00 am

So when I first downloaded the ND CH-53E, I had a somewhat annoying issue where upon engine start, the sound effect was looping from start to fly then back to start. After shutdown and restart, sound effects would return to normal and the helicopter would sound like a normal '53. Now, no matter what I do, it will not break through the engine start sound effect loop, even with all 3 engines at max power (FLY position). Anyone have similar issues or know an easy fix without deleting every aircraft I've downloaded in the last 8 months?

Cheers,
Sam

Try changing the sounds? (rename the 'sound' folder (as a backup) and replace it with one from another chopper.)

If that doesn't help please ask back here

OK so for some wierd reason I got a wild hair up my arse to restart my computer and... voila! works as advertised. I guess sometimes you cant get around the software glitching. Now, on to the next little nuisance. As this is a payware download made by a reputable designer, is it possible to disable the "too low, flaps" and "don't sink" warnings? CH-53's don't have flaps for one, and for two, any time you descend below 100-150 feet per minute the "don't sink" warning kicks in, even with landing gear down & locked. Um, hello, there is a such thing called "LANDING YOUR BIRD!" Sink rate warning for helo's is 1000 FPM+ on average, of course depending on the manufacturer. The CH-53's max descent rate is 1200 FPM not to include auto's. So how do you remove these audible warnings from a package that auto-installs? Maybe this is something I should send an E-Mail to ND about?

Pete,
Good suggestion, but i paid $30 for the copy. If you downloaded a freeware aircraft that had a sound package that matched the actual no crap real life aircraft, for FREE, would you be anything other than dissatisfied if you paid $30, $40, $50 or MORE of your hard earned money for a download that had a sound package that doesn't work properly? i should certainly think not. I'm not trying to be snooty, and I'm certainly not expecting FSX on a golden platter, if someone doesnt bring up th flaws, the designer could very well never know an adjustment needs to be made. But for payware, a consumer shouldnt have to make any changes to scripting or any part of the download for that matter whatsoever. As I'm sure you already know, thats what the BETA test models are for. On a lighter note, I thank you for asking to repost if the suggested correction doesn't fix the problem. I am grateful that there are people on this forum and part of this community that care about their fellow simmer's interest in getting things done right no matter what the cost, and you have shown that you are willing to do whatever it takes to provide the right answer and help as much as you can, and that goes a long way to me. I apologize in advance for stepping on anyone's toes, that's not what I meant to do.

Cheers,
Sam

Yep and I just made myself look like an FSX boot by telling an Admin what BETA testing is for. Lord, I apologize....
