Aside from the illegal aspect of this, consider this: If the drone has a built in cam, and the operator sees you, and you attempt to shoot it down, and someone is hit by the bullet,
'cause it has to land somewhere, you could be in very serious trouble. I wouldn't discharge a firearm randomly. A "drone hunting license"? Someone just ain't thinking straight.

Just give it the finger, I think that's pretty safe.

A couple things to remember...

Legality, safety and moral issues aside, the bottom line is that this is a symbolic measure, arguing about more intrusive Government surveillance and the potential lack of privacy for residents from increased UAV surveillance.

No one here, in his right mind, is going to go out and try shooting down a UAV, believe me. The State of Colorado won't allow the physical act of shooting down a UAV that is either privately or Government owned. C'mon now... is that what you take us for?

Deer Trail is a small community of about 650 residents, located about 60 miles East of Denver. Don't get the impression that this is a 'suburb' of Denver, and 'sportsmen' by the thousands are going to bum rush City Hall with their .30-.30's looking for drone licenses and Hunting Tags, and swarms of 'hunters' randomly shooting into the sky at anything moving through the air!

Really?

Remember... 'SYMBOLIC' GESTURE, protesting the potential for more intrusive Government surveillance by the use of UAV's. I'll be honest, though... if this thing does pass in November and 'licenses' become available, I just might drive to Deer Trail and get one. Behind a picture frame, hanging on my wall... it would make one hell of a display!

Don't read into this as the media is portraying it; the residents of Deer Trail are playing along and know what the reality is, as do the rest of us Coloradans... ;)

Like he says - symbolic :text-goodpost:

I remember when Berkeley, CA across the bay from San Francisco declared itself a "nuclear free zone".

China and the Soviet Union immediately reprogrammed their MIRV warheads to avoid Berkeley. Any nuclear strikes were to be limited to the San Francisco side of the bay.

Just like Ben & Jerries Ice cream support of the NRA. Not all of their managers are required to carry guns just because it's company policy that they do so. It's just a symbolic statement.

What's important is to remember that it is not the ridiculousness of a stance, but its importance as a symbol.

Probably greenhorns. Any ice angler worth their salt makes sure there's sufficient supplies of libations to last the WHOLE day!
Of course, those Minnesotans cheat and bring their man shacks out on the ice, leaving them there all Winter!

Here in CO we have to pull everything off the ice each time. But, there's nothing like standing around a hole in the ice,
munching on Elk Brats hot off the Hibachi, sipping an Irish Coffee and pulling in nice Kokanee!

Ok, I am a gun owner, but even I see the stupidity in this. All it will take is Bill Joe Jim Bob emptying his AR15 magazine into the sky, the rounds missing and landing in the play ground of the local school............Billy Joe will be up to his neck in legal class action and lawyers will be rubbing there hands with glee.....Not to mention CNN calling on all guns to be banned and Fox News defending Bill Joe's right to bear arms

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
