Grumman C-2 Greyhound

Postby YA-9guy » Mon Aug 05, 2013 7:46 am

Looking for a freeware C-2 Greyhound, cant find jack s***. Also looking for Grumman Gulfstreams I and II, DHC-4 Caribou, DHC-5 Buffalo, Boeing YC-14, and McDonnell Douglas YC-15. Would appreciate some assistance.

My guess (and it is a wild guess) is that this bird got its name from the very successful American bus lines, since the C-2 was designed to transport personnel (and cargo) to and from aircraft carriers. For a long time, "Greyhound" has been synonymous with "intercity bus". The name doesn't really fit with big lumbering buses, either, but that's marketing for you.

Good thinking. That hadn't occurred to me.

The C-2 Greyhound actually is faster, bigger, and heavier than the C-1 Tracker. I think the name is very fitting when you compare it to its predecessor.

For some reason, the Caribou's engines would just quit on me when I was on the ground. No way to get them both started up. Is this normal?
