"Views" - Switching Views in Fly~By Mode !

Postby Jetranger » Sun Jul 28, 2013 3:55 am

Well Dumb ol' me I can't believe this , I've had my FSX Gold Acceleration for 4 years now, and I always wondered why they(Microsoft) , didn't give us an Option to switch views in Fly By Mode.

What I mean is , when your in "Fly By" mode, and the Aircraft is comin at you, I usually most of the time only see the Aircraft from the Starboard side (Right side).

I'd like to be able to see the other side sometimes, depending on where I'm at in the world when I'm shooting a Video.

Tonight I stumbled across the Answer to that dilemma .

When your in Fly By mode - using your "Hat Switch" on your joystick or Flight Yoke, IF you hold the switch over to the Left and count to like 4 or 5 seconds and let go,,, the next Fly By, it'll switch to the other side of the plane.

You won't see instant changes when you hold the button, you have to wait till the next Fly By view, to see it change sides.

Wanna see it from the Right side / Starboard , (Right side), you just push the toggle switch / Hat Switch, count to 4 or 5, let go, wait till the next Fly By mode, and Presto' you see the other side of the airplane !

I did not know this, I'm just now finding out, Yip, I must be kinda slow , some of you probably already knew this ????

Well Dumb me, didn't !

Heres the Video I got the Tip from : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zxBdFcItU0

Do not be so hard on your self. That comes under the category of things I would not think of on a normal basis. And than you ask your self hey what would happen if I did this. I wish I had a dime for every time I stumble upon something that I should have seen long time ago but did not.
The one that got me was a post here about slewing a airplane than when you turn off slew your plane goes barreling down the taxiway right into a building. I stumbled upon pressing F1 this plants the plane back on the ground and throttles it down so to say.

A similar find for me after 3 years of FSX is that when you have been on the Toolbar view ( ALT Key )
to clear it you can Hold the Alt key again.
