New to modding in FSX

Hi to all Pilots of FSX, I am new to modding in FSX and so I want to have some advises for a smooth start. Is it easy or complicated to mod in FSX? Are there guides available that can assist me? And can mods from previous FS series be added into FSX? Thank you all in advance for spending time reading and helping me. Sorry if such post had been posted before.

When you say modding do you mean making aircraft
If so than ther is a lot of tools out there that can help you get started the first thing you will need is the FSX SDK guide check out this link http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8285
The answer to your other question about using mods from previous versions is It can be done but in my opinion It is not worth it The problem is the textures are different from one version to another.

The best way is to choose an aircraft & try it. The Simviation Help section is a good place to start. http://simviation.com/1/help

If you run into problems post the file name & description here on the forum so someone can check it out for you.

Some FS2004 aircraft will work in FSX but I suggest sticking to files specifically created for FSX. These are sometimes called FSX Native files. There's plenty to choose from.

Yes, there are different sections which list the various addons. Depends what you want to do. Most people start with a new aircraft or repaint & go on from there. Don't be in too much hurry. There's a lot to learn & plenty of time to do it.

You can also create your own sounds for your aircraft
But Trust HAGAR go slow and take your time there are several ways one can create scenery and aircraft some are rather complicated like a program called GMAX this program can create 3d aircraft and buildings but is not for the beginners. I actually made a 3 d line shack which I use at my home base it took me several weeks and a lot of hair loss before I finally got it.
