Heat wave

Postby Steve M » Fri Jul 19, 2013 3:29 pm

I'm sure most of you have been living in extreme heat and humidity. I am reading that even in parts of Europe are rather hot. We here in southern Ontario have a measurement called the Humidex and have come close to breaking all time records. In otherwords humidity and temps combined to show the comfort level. Saying that..I love watching a good rainstorm that doesn't hurt anyone. A cold front coming from the north, within hours, will bring the temperatures down quickly about 15C degrees and those rainstorms I so love to watch. Hopefully no tornadoes and no injuries.
In another news story I read.. The state park employees in Death Valley are getting frustrated with tourists frying eggs on sidewalks and not cleaning up the mess!

It's been pretty hot here in NW Missouri for the past few weeks. We're expecting rain on Sunday though and that should cool things down a little.

We are experiencing a right-old-scorcher over this side of the Pond!... :D ..!
We are even getting or own California/Arizona-style Wildfires now!

Mind you, after suffering a spate of bitterly cold Winters, I am quite enjoying our new-found "warmth", whilst touring around the County on my Motorbike, clad in a flowery Hawaii shirt and Bermuda shorts...(but wearing a crash helmet!)!

I'm making the most of this while it lasts!... ...!

The first storm cell just rolled over us. No one reported hurt yet but what a light show! You couldn't buy tickets for that.. The ambient temps of the pavement and high winds with a deluge like that created swirling winds, steam and showers that were spinning sideways. I love it. Sitting in the garage and watching. 8)

I would imagine it's hot. Our cold front came from the north so maybe that,s roaming your way. Expect tornadoes. It cooled down so fast here I put on a sweater because I'm old!

We finally caught a break here in N/E pennsylvania. Last time I looked at the temp gauge it was around 90F mid day. Big break from the 100+F
we were forced to endore for the past week and a half or so. :angry-screaming:

I'm not with ya on that one Jetranger, I love me a nice foot or two of snow covering the ground. Nice cool temp, curl up with the better half
and a nice big ol'hot cup of coffee. The way I look at it is you can get warm in winter, even if you have to ware three sets of long johns, it
can be done. But in the summer... without the Blessed A/C, You can't get cool. Even if your neckid, your still hot as hell.

You are right, Dwayne..

Over the last couple of Winters I have almost died from the cold in my large house, wrapped up in my hat, coat, scarf, gloves, blankets, etc...and that's in bed!....

But in the Winter you can at least wrap up from the cold...in the Summer there is no relief from the heat!

I still HATE the Winter, tho!

Paul...21*C at the mo'...warm, damp, and overcast.....and that's just me!... ...!

This is what ya do to stay Cool in the Summer Heat !

Yes you can stay cool in the summer heat any Heat if ya Improvise a tad bit !

Ya get in a pool or tub or plastic kiddie pool and fill it with say 10 to 15 bags of Ice and fill the pool with water, next step is to have a cooler beside you also with Ice and in that Cooler beside your pool filled with ice,,, inside that cooler is a Nice Refreshing 12 pack of BEER !!!

Now, tell me ya can't keep Cool in the Summer sitting in 20* Degree Water, Drinking 35* Ice Cold Beer !! ;)

Aww! It's so cut how y'all think that 95F is egregiously hot! Down here in San Antonio, we're usually hitting 105 every day. Luckily for us, though, we're only hitting 96F today.

I make that mistake in the flight sim all the time.

Hey San Antonio! that puts me even closer to you being that I'm S/E Pa. So NEAAAAH! :D
