FSX - Mother of all Problems

Postby Blaunarwal » Fri Jun 28, 2013 12:46 pm

Hi there

Hope there is somebody out there, who knows what is causing this strange effect. My sea turns in to desert at the pacific coast of Kamchatka. I have no idea, what is causing this. Ships still cruise on the "desert", but I don't like this view. Please help

Hi,
I don't know what the problem is but I'm looking into it. Is the longitude at which the texture goes from land to sea 161.25 degrees? If not, what is the longitude?

Thanks for helping. I will check coordinates in a minute.

Meanwhile I loaded all cvx files of directory 1101 into TmfViewer. Look at this!

Do I miss some files there? I guess so, I'll check my backup.

I found the problem. cvx9013.bgl was renamed to cvx9013.off. I don't know when and by which addon this happened. I didn't do it manually and it doesn't make any sense to me, since there's no scenery at all. I have Aerosoft Kamchatka and some own creations in that area, but not there in the south in the sea. I'm glad now, I can spend the evening with some flying. Thanks for your helping Jim. Maybe the word coordinates brought this idea to me, checking the tiles. :D

Yes you're right. But after years of solving problems with this flightsim, I want to come back to the roots and just fly it. <<q

Tonight I bought this little package FLYFREESTD - SUKHOI SU-33 & ADMIRAL KUZNETSOV FSX

I exchanged the freeware Kuznetsov carrier with this nice model from the package and also used the carrier capable Su-33 from the package.

On the first approach I managed to land. It's a great feeling.

The aircraft is not as good as my ALS Sim Flanker B, but unfortunately the ALS one has no carrier modification. Maybe I should also try once the one from Bear Studios.

Hi, I've had these kinds of problems around the Tuxtla Guiterrez area in Southern Mexico. The city is missing and Lake Malpaso stands on end in places. I Googled the area and found that the images Google Earth posts all are 'degraded' by weather when taken. It is possible that the images used to construct the 'tile' you are wishing to fly in are/were also flawed.

Just a thought, I know this solves nothing but I hope this makes you at least feel better, I'll fly your area and see if I get the same results as you. Perhaps you could check out Lake Malpaso etc. as well and confirm for me too?

Good luck and thanks
