hi...would you recommend the i7-3770k (overclocked)....with the asus sabertooth z77 motherboard?
my present system can overclock only to about 3.6 and is unstable and crashes occasionally....
oh.....also a geforce gtx 660 ti-dc20-2gd5

I have the i7 3770, turbo boosted it runs at about 3.79 ghz while using FSX and it's very stable 8-)

If I were you, I'd save some money and get an i5 3570K and overclock to 4.3 GHz using a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo. Performance will be just as good as a 3770K at the same clock speed.

It has been a while since I have been on this forum and noticed your post on 2/10/13. In the Fall of 2012, I upgraded to an i7-3770K and the following is an overview of how it turned out,

I know I'm a late comer with my all-so-humble opinion! With Intel's new 4th Gen CPU's out you should be able to pick up a 3770k and MoBo quite reasonably.

I recently traded in my old ATI 5770's running Eyefinity on my three LCD's for a Nvidia GTX 660 Super Clocked EVGA, (not TI), and I absolutely love this

card. A GTX 660 TI should even be better with it's architecture! I picked the card up as an experiment and decided not to build a new computer

because I liked it so much! Had similar specs as yours in mind for my new build and opted to max out my 1366 motherboard, happened across an

i7 990X replaced my i7 920 using my existing air cooler,

with a slight overclock of 4.41 ghz and my idle temps in the celsius teens and full load in the mid to low 60's, I think I'm good to go...for now!

ATI hands down has better multi-monitor software with there eyfinity but I was always struggling to get FSX to run right!

Nvidia interprets the graphics much better but there screen surround, for lack of a better term, sucks I still can't get max width in resolution

because surround wants all three screens exactly the same and ATI's eyefinity didn't! Bottom line for FSX tripple screen users, ATI has better software

Nvidia has better graphics and there software has a short learning curve!

I guess that I'll stay with the Eyefinity series then. Two of my monitors are 23 inch. The third is 22 inch.

There are so many possibilities in assembling a computer that I guess any one or two differences can make a big difference.

In my system the AMD Eyefinity series work exceptionally well, and I've had 2 different card in that series.
