My first question is this a laptop?
You put you had 894 MB of RAM that is way to low for FSX I am thinking you meant that the on board video has this much ram would make sense.
Ram does not normally come in that low amount I think that the lowest is 2 gig but I could be wrong.
FSX is a CPU speed and ram hungry program the faster the CPU the better and the more ram you have is better as well, and the faster the speed of the ram is better as well.
In case you are not aware of this the 32 bit operating system you have can only support roughly 3.2 gigs of ram even if you put 4 gigs in it. You can run FSX with this system but you will have to both tweak and adjust the sliders down toward the low end.
So it depends upon what you expect from your system. If you want to be able to run FSX wide open then you will have to update your system. I finally updated my system this past January. I spent around $800 to $900 on this system and by no means did I get the best of every thing I could.
I shopped around and wound up with a system that will last me for about ten years or so I hope. The speed of technology now a days one never knows what is around the corner. A good example is I bought a Intel Quad core CPU with a sandy bridge which was top of the line at the time, than 3 months later Intel released the same CPU with a IVY bridge which of course is better.
I believe that building your system from scratch is better than buying a store bought system because you can put what you want on it with out all of the junk they put on store bought system now a days.
The biggest advantage is you have the Windows install disk.
If you plan on going to a 64 bit system you might want to check on which version of FSX you get as at the time I got my system the deluxe edition was not compatible with windows 8 64 bit. Some people now say that they have the deluxe edition running on there system so I do not know

My tip would be...

Get "Flight Simulator 2004" and give that a try....

Your PC would most likely run that very/extremely well. The processor speed looks OK, and sometime you may wish to upgrade the Graphics card with something a little better...and still cheap!

Don't be disheartened. I have both FSX and FS 2004, and my 8-year-old Dell Tower PC runs FS 2004 a real treat...every day!

Have a Google on "Amazon" for FS 2004 "A Century of Flight".....for a few Pounds....you wont be disappointed!

Give it a try, and join us up in the Big Blue Yonder!

Paul...FS 2004... (and FSX)... ...!

My Computer Spec for Comparison:
Dell Dimension 5000 BTX Tower. Win7 Home Edition, 32 Bit. Intel Pentium 4, dual 2.8 GHz. 2.5GB RAM, nVidia GF 9500GT 1GB. SATA 500GB + 80GB. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Micronet ADSL Modem only. Saitek Cyborg Evo Force.

Perfect for FS 2004!

The lowest spec is the graphical settings you apply within the Sim....(The same as the Rail Simulator).
For the same computer specs you can run FSX with most setting turned down/off, or run FS 2004 flat-out!

My computer listed above will run FSX with certain details turned down to achieve acceptable frame rates...but it really struggles!

All the settings in my FS 2004 are turned up to the max to achieve the same level of detail as FSX...with smooth flight!

If you want to get off the ground quickly with what you have, FS 2004 is the way to go!

Then you can start to add on, all the mountains of Freeware stuff, to make it look really nice!

Paul.... ...!

P.S...don't forget...you are also going to need a Flight Control (twist) Joystick, as well!

My advice would be..give it a try...you cant go wrong for £7:00!
As with all computer games, the results always rely upon your choice of computer graphical settings.

Try it out...you may need a little bit more system memory installed...and a better Graphics Card can be tried later...

You will certainly achieve much better (smoother) results with FS 2004 than with FSX, on your present system!

FSX requires a complete, special build, to achieve acceptable results.

Various freeware add-ons in FS 2004 will bring the Sim up to FSX graphical standards with little expense and effort!

Paul....Smooth FS 2004... ...!

A lot of hearts have been broken trying to run FSX smoothly on minimal hardware!

My year 2005, Pentium 4, Dual Hyper-threading, 2.8 GHz processor runs FS 2004 very smoothly at maximum settings.

My FSX is mostly a juddering slide-show, even on minimal (unacceptable!) graphical settings!

My PC is a Core i5 3470(Ivy Bridge) CPU at 3.2 GHz clock speed.
8 G/B of ram.
nVidia 660 2 gig ram GPU.
Windows 8 (it run flawlessly).
And it still struggle with FSX at max settings. (20 to 40 FPS at cruise and dropping to 15 FPS near airports)
So, I do not think you'll be able to run FSX satisfactory with that PC.
