A good STOL plane?

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

A good STOL plane?

Postby ChimaeraZone » Sun Apr 28, 2013 7:11 pm

What is a good STOL plane I would like a taildragger and something with a GPS, also something that can hold some cargo. I really like Cessna 185, 180, and 170 but cant fund them anywhere  Help please? :D

Happy landings,

My favourite at the moment...the PZL radial-engined Wilga....

"Wicked Wilga"...with variations!...(From Sim V).

..and a fantastic VC Cockpit!

Amazing STOL performance!

Paul.... :D ...!

I believe you can find a freeware Pilatus Porter with a great VC.

Definitely a Fieseler Storch.

Mine is from FSAddon .

And it does include a GPS.

As in real life the FSAddon Fieseler Storch's wings will fold back. You do have to select a key though. Nothings easy is it.

Try the Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter. That is my favorite bush bird!

What about the DHC-2 Anik (Beaver)? Aerosoft makes one for FSX, no? Or the Carenado C-185.

How about the AN-2? I prefer the Tim Conrad version cuz I don't read Russian and am totally not used to metric instruments.

You want to get a DHC3 turbo otter. Carry LOTS of goods and you can get amazing STOL performance. Or try a Twin otter. There are several variants (wheel, ski, and float) of each aircraft available as freeware here on SimV

Sure, but with payload considerations a Storch is similar to a Super Cub. The Turbo Otter/Turbo Beaver, and Turbo Porter all are bush 'trucks'. The Turbo Porter was designed for high altitude ops though so its excess power is pretty darn impressive. Tim Conrad produced an awesome freeware one for FSX. I have the payware FSD PC-6 for FS9 as well. Both are incredible and you can drop into the tightest of places.
