Dusk Flight...

Postby Fozzer » Wed May 29, 2013 2:57 pm

An unusual flight for me, as I don't normally fly during the hours of darkness...too dangerous!

But this was a late evening flight down the Bitterroot Valley, following the river, just as the sun was setting, from Missoula Airfield in Montana, to Stevensville, amongst the Bitterroot Mountains, whilst my VFR-only Licence was still valid for the flight!

FS 2004...and my trusty Cessna 150 Aerobat Tail-dragger.. :D ...!

Leaving Missoula, heading down the valley....

Majestic Bitterroot Mountains on my right...

Ready for landing before it gets too dark!...

Wonderful set Paul...very nice... <<s

I need to get me that bugsmasher...

Myself, have always enjoyed night flying and flying in IFR weather. One of my most memorable flights was alone in a Lockheed "T 33" or "T Bird" at night in a moderate thunderstorm.
Under that bubble canopy the whole world seemed to have changed and when I flew out of the storm the sky was alive with stars or perhaps star ships trying to catch me....

Again wonderful set... <<q
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Ta Lads!... :D ...!

It is a fact, that I rarely, if ever, "fly" during the hours of darkness!

As an "explorer", I like to view the wonderful Pacific/Mid West scenery, all around me.

Indeed, the majority of my flights are not so much to do with the aircraft, but more to do with enjoying the amazing scenery below and around me!
(Also with the aid of Google Satellite/Street Maps).

...and that only occurs during the; "daytime"!... :D ...!
